Heh.. Wow, okay.. it's been a while since I've posted anything here. I post stuff in my LJ now, but I need a lot of serious feedback for this one, so I'm posting it here. funkyfull.net/oojah/rsc.png (it's big..) First of all, and most importantly, I need someone to tell me how the folds in this guy's clothes look, because I think a few of them are unnecessary, or maybe I actually need more. So anyone who knows about folds.. help me, please. (PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE!!) He needs a name, so... Rafael, Sydney or Curtis. Which suits him best? And any other sort-of feedback would be good too...

Okay... first of all... the fold by his right, my left wrist... the top one... in that little bunch of two... heh? Is kind of awkward. So, I would either a) put some darker shading in where you want the groove to be to give it a little more definition as to what's folded over what or b) just get rid of it. The chest and stomach are looking very flat, so maybe you should put in one or two big folds to indicate his shape or the tightness of bagginess of his shirt. There are usually some larger folds across the front unless you're wearing a really tight shirt in which case there should be more body shape there... The only other fold I see any problems with is the one on the leg to my right. Unless he has a huge bump on his leg his pants shouldn't bulge like that... well... whatever. Anyway, that one's a little weird. But I'd do a few more folds around the knees there, too. Also, in general, use more contrast for the folds. You've got a little shading going, but I'd add some more and lighten up the edges of the folds... if you get what I'm saying. Wow. That was an intense fold-criticising session. I'm not trying to be harsh, but you said you needed a lot of feedback, so don't take that the wrong way. Anyway, I love this guy! I love his huge hands and feet and the one little eye. So great! I think Sydney... he looks like an outsider. Sydney sounds like an outsider... I love the not quite round head. Would I be a terribly crazy stalker if I asked for your LJ username? Because I miss your art...

Thank-you Alison! I know what you mean, and I'll work on those things next drawing I do :) I didn't think to use my mouldy eraser to lighten the edges of the folds.. heh.
I'm probably going to be drawing this guy more, once he's got a definite name... I really like him. :-)
Thanks sooo much, again. ^_^ You're so helpful. Yay..

OOOOOH.
More purty Alli art...
Well, I think Alison was pretty right with the Intense Folding Criticizim, so on with the praise...
AWWW. He's so adorable. His hands and feet are fantastically cute, and his outfit is the cool. AND THE HEAD. Woot. I absolutely adore your style...I simply cannot wait until you're doing some sort of cartooning gig...
I think he looks like a Sydney. Yes yes yes.

Heh.. I forgot about that girl/balloon picture... that's old. O.o Thanks, though. :-) Thanks Kate! ^__^ I drew another picture of Sydney (his official name now! Whee.), I like my idea, and how his pose came out, but I don't like how I drew the clothes or my shading. (I was trying to make it look as though the light was coming from below.. for something different... but I think I did some parts with the light source coming from the wrong area, and.. dunno. It's just not good.. and his expression isn't the one I wanted. But it will do.. I guess. www.funkyfull.net/oojah/sydney01.pngI do not know where those two little circle things on his pants came from, they're not there on the original.. :-/ Oh, something else that bothers me: his torso is too small. I always do that... mehh. V_V But I think I like it... as a whole. For now. Edit: Oh, and point out any mistakes that I missed. Please... #nosmileys#nosmileys

Awwww! He's so cute! I love him! He and Sandy should hook up or something ! I LOVE the plant. He's holding a little plant! And looking at it cutely! AWWWW! Anyway, the light from below thing worked pretty well (I don't see any real problems). I think there are some spots it should be lighter, and some it should be darker, but they aren't really a big deal. I don't actually think his torso's too small... I just thought it was that his coat is smaller than his shirt. It makes more sense to me that way. But anyway... his toso and pants have more nice folds and depth... (but I'd still go for more folds at the knee) Those circle things are very weird. Maybe there's something on your scanner? Anyway, they look kinda cool, like there are patches or textures on his pants or something. His face is cute. I love the shading around his eyes and the angle of his head and the cute bewildered look. ;D
