My creative writing teacher has introduced me to a whole new writing style- a story with EXACTLY fifty-five words. No more, no less. There are different styles: THE KEEPER
Moss, wind, lighthouse, rocks, shore, sky, clouds, thunder, waves, deep, endless, chasm, crash, spray, howl, lightning, mud, squish, ice, galoshes, raincoat, hat, sweater, path, trudge, steps, door, key, fingers, fumble, open, slam, stairs, run, breath, chatter, window, storm, top, chamber, sway, roar, hands, lever, strength, gasp, dazzle, burn, light, pulse, sigh, smile, ship, horizon, safe. THE KISS
Whisper, breath, mist, icy, balcony, ship, rail, eyes, glass, stars, echo, abyss, deep, dark, lost, slowly, fingers, cheek, stroke, cup, palm, waist, lean, move, eyelashes, brush, ivory, lips, electric, warm, smooth, moist, soft, shiver, step, closer, press, tongue, flick, shy, scared, moan, shudder, ache, sensual, explore, tremble, perfection, eternity, Heaven, love, ocean, moon, iceberg, Titanic.
Or you can write in prose, with sentences. When I can find my backpack, I'll post some prose ones that I wrote. Right now, I've been looking at ghost pictures, I don't think I can make the journey out to the living room right now You guys should try writing some! I'd be interested to see what you come up with! ;D

Hmm... 100 words would be easier.
Once upon a time Colton LeStalker, who may or may not have ever stalked anyone, began the stalking game. Soon, people from all over stalked. Pester was a diligent stalker initially, but soon became negligent. One day she decided to amend her lazy ways and get down to business. And there was much rejoicing.
*stalks*

Wh00p! Those are awesome, guys. I've heard of something like that before (they have special terms I don't know for short stories with 100 words, 200 words, etc), but I've never written anything with a definite word count. Anyway, here's my attempt:
Streets lined with sinister lampposts, casting haunting shadows with their diming lights. Smoggy air floats in spirals around abandonned factories, blowing yellowing newspapers onto the road. A man sits in a doorway, plaid shirt torn, exposing raw elbows. He smiles and offers to sell me a drawing of a ship. "Sorry." "Bless you. Merry Chirtmas"

Other than the words, nothing.
Those were just two examples of the first type of 55-word story, the second type is prose, which she didn't have a sample of at the time.
I bought a book of 55-word stories Friday night, and two of my favorites were these:
A Second Chance By Jay Bonestell
His love had gone. In despair, he flung himself off the Golden Gate Bridge. Coincidentally, a few yards away, a girl made her own suicidal plunge. They two passed in midair. Their eyes met. Their chemistry clicked. It was true love. They realized it. Three feet above the water.
December 8, 1980 5:59 pm By David Congalton
She closed the history book and sighed. “That General Custer. He should have never left the safety of the Dakota Territory.” He was in too much of a hurry to listen. He picked up his guitar and headed for the door. “Bloody hell, Yoko! Let’s go! We’re going to be late.”
The former made me quite sad...*has a minor breakdown, again thinking of the death of John Lennon* Ahem, anyway, I loved the way the author subtly mentioned the Dakota and compared John to General Custer leaving safety...
I plan on writing my own eventually, just as soon I get a freaking idea...meh.

i wrote 4 so far, and this is the best in my opinion. guess who it's about. The tall boy walked down the hallway, eyes fixed on nothing. The quiet girl walked toward him, eyes downcast. He looked down. She looked up. Their eyes met for the briefest of instants. He passed, unfazed. She passed, pained. To him, she was just a face in the crowd. To her, he meant the world.

YAY! *applause* And I did write a few more... here's my favorite: Don’t Let Me Down “All the passion, the pain, the hours locked away…” Professor Klein stood angrily, upsetting his oaken dining chair. “I have never loved anything as much as I’ve loved you. You let me down.” He sighed with defeat and hobbled to the window. “I hate books with crappy endings.” He threw the book out the window.

Once upon a time lived a girl named Amber. She knew more than she was expected to know. She knew everything around her and why her parents were always leaving after they thought she was asleep. She was, honestly, just terrified. And she was gruesomely killed on a Thursday night, because of what she knew.

Having stupidity is not necessarily a bad thing. All of you who are reading this are unaware of what I really I am. I could be anything. So if you trust me, why are you trusting someone you don't know? All of you who don't trust me, good for you. I mean it. I am--
