"I'm just depressed," Michael said. "Because the only thing I got from the journey across space is a cold feeling in my stomache and a stabbing feeling in my heart knowing that the universe consists of planets filled with similary-minded people, so pathetic and lowly they're not fit to clean the toilets of Times Square with they're tongues and the worst part is, we share the same universe."
Earth is nothing more than a mixture of several billion planets, a small portion taken from each. Humans personalities, however, were only taken from a dozen or so planets and one personality of the dozen is reserved for one person yet to be born in the Earth as you know it.

Is this a novel you're working on? If so, it's quite well written: I'd like to see more!
But I know what you're getting at with this, 'cause you've said it before... about the kids at your school who are stupid and don't care and think reading's horrible, right? And I know what you mean, but I think you're being a little harsh on humanity. People are good, out there. Not everyone is close to illiterate and unfit to clean toilets with their tongues. I appologize if it's just a story and that's not what you're trying to get at. Have hope, though!

Well, it takes place after Earth is destroyed. So you can see how the people who survive get upset. And they travel with a friendly little alien to try to get to a second Earth, but they have bad luck and land in horrible planets filled with brainless violent people, horrid religious extremists, etc, so that makes them even more upset and they get even more depressed, dark views on humanity. Anyway, one of the characters gives a speech about how they just landed on negative aspects of Earth, how it's not ALL bad, etc.

Cool! I'd really like to see more! Sound liks (get ready for an oxymoron) good Science Fiction! No, kidding, kidding. But Sci-Fi is always better with ethical dilemmas and actual character development. ;D Can't wait for more.

Harris woke up with a headache, and a bunch of other aches, and the parts of his body that didn't ache were numb. He could see perfectly alright, but he wasn't processing anything he was seeing. This was the worst he ever felt in his entire life, and probably would be the worst, with the exception of things to come when he hit "old age". If he ever did hit it. Things weren't looking good in Harris' life--just yesterday, his planet exploded. Then what? His planet exploded and...oh right, he took a lungful of air, survived for 23 seconds, blacked out and woke up in a friendly alien's spaceship, and the alien--Marten--told him of a second earth that was somewhere near the galaxy and there were three other Earthlings and... No, that couldn't be right. There were two other Earthlings, and they decided to take a trip to find the second Earth. And now he was in a spaceship. Yeah, that was it.

Harris looked down at his hand. He was holding a book. For a minute, he had forgotten how to read. "Huh...hit...hit--shhh...hitsh--" He read the title fluently, and when he did, he burst into the laughter of a crazy person, and then he started crying and laughing at the same time. " HahahahahahaoooooooohGodwhhhhyyyyyywhyoooooooooooo h......." He moaned. He got up from his bed and flung himself into the wall, hitting his head hard against it. It felt good, so he did it again He didn't know what to do, so he flung himself at the wall yet again, and again and again and-- "HARRIS!" Marten called from the kitchen of the ship. What do I do? What do I do? Oh right...I get up...stand up...walk...one foot in front of the other...other foot in front of the other...other...other...now open the door...grasp the doorknob...turn...Ah, so this is what it's like to be insane. Or incredibly, incredibly stupid. He walked unsteadily out of his room, stumbling all along the way. Marten, Michael and Kalista were sitting at the table. Harris awkwardly sat down, too. "I took a class in Earth, and we learned cuisine. So I made something you might be familiar with." Marten said. Harris looked at the table. There was a platter of brown-grey, lumpy patties that were dry, but was swimming in oil in grease. It was slathered in thick red-yellow-whitish liquids, and he immediately recognized the food as a hamburger and scarfed it down. Of course, he had forgotten to chew the first time and he almost choked. "Er...What should I do?" Marten asked. "I don't know," Michael said, twitching. "We were learning safety procedures at school but the EARTH BLEW UP BEFORE I GOT TO FINISH THE 7TH GRADE! AGH!" Marten turned to Kalista, who shrugged."Dunno. Forgot." Harris drank down water, put his hand down his throat, drank water, splurted, making it come out through his nose, knocked over the water glass, strangled himself and turned blue. "Oooh, now I remember!" Kalista said, walking over to Harris and giving him the heimlich (sp) manuever (sp).

So, Harris climbed onto the seat and did what any Earthling would do--finished the burger. "So, Harris, is it?" Kalista asked. "Yes." Harris said. They said noting else. "Er...Marten, when should we arrive at Earth v.2.0?" Kalista asked. "Dunno. It's somewhere in the universe. And do you have any idea how big the universe is?" Marten asked. The Earthlings nodded. "No, you don't. The Universe is so immensely huge that you can't even begin to fathom the hugeness of it. If you think you do, then there's another piece unaccounted for and another and another and I could keep saying "and another" for several trillion life spans each with a life span of several trillion years each and the said pieces combined would equal such a small portion of the universe that your heads would explode to think about it." "My head will explode thinking about what you just said." Kalista said. "So, in other words, the chances of finding the second Earth is very slim?" "No, a lot of improbable things happen in the universe, so often that they're not even considered improbable." Marten said. "Is it near or far, then?" Harris asked. "There is no near or far in the universe. I'm sorry, but the universe is a lot less simple than Earth." Marten said. "You could say that again." Harris muttered. "The universe is--" Marten said. "I didn't mean it literally." Harris said. "I know you didn't. I was going to say "the universe is incredibly weird--we might be able to find the second Earth tomorrow. Then again, there's no tomorrow, today or any other period of time for that matter out in the universe." Marten said.
