i got this poll from www.theonering.net/index.stat and i thought it was a good question. i love all characters and really can't pick just one because they all had a part to play.

I'm being totally basis on this and saying Gandalf, because I want too. Although they probably couldn't have done much without him..

i think sam is actually the real hero. i do not know why i think that but, it just would not be the same without sam. you know.

i'd say sam. he never gave up, even when frodo told him to go away. sam is an awesome character.

He is a good character, but his stout heart would not have saved him. Gandalf's the man with the plan(and the power)

Sam. Definatley Sam. Gandalf was the strong second though.

i guess i would pick Sam because he had a key role(along with Frodo). i was just thinking, what if Sam didn't persue Frodo at the end of FotR? Sauron would eventually get the ring and poor Frodo would be in the Tower. sam is really important.

i can't believe i'm saying this but aragorn HAS to be mentioned. i mean, he protected the hobbits from ringwraiths, he drew off sauron's armies so frodo and sam could get through mordor, he took the responsibility of king, the guy has hero written all over him!

Sam held it all together. Or I guess, he held Fro all together. GO SAM, WOO!

Sam. Yep, he was the ultra snazzy moral support.

So much sam... U know, gandalf could have taken sauron on his own with a bit of success if the valar had let him. Then no one would have needed any hobbits.

Heroine, please. Eowyn is THE BEST!!!!! She's a girl with attitude and courage and she doesn't sit back and let the men have all the action and the glory. She fights for what she believes in, and doesn't take no for an answer. Plus, she marries Faramir, but they didn't put that in the film, and I want to know-WHY THE HECK NOT?

They probably did put it in the film. I'm guessing it will be on the "special edition" thing for RotK, which doesn't come out for a VERY long time.
