Well sure. You'd even have some people say gollum but I'm trying to think of who I believe contributed most. It's difficult to tangle what would've happened without any one character.

Well other people helped he just came up with all the ideas and plans. Other people got everything together and started marching, like Imrahil, Aragorn, and Eomer.

Who is Imrahil? And that is a good point, I never thought of that.

Imrahil is the prince of a peninsula called Dol Amroth which is near the ocean a bit south of gondor. Find a map.

There's Aman which is over the sea, notable cities are Valinor, Alqualonde, and Tirion. It's the blessed realm. There's Eressea right near Aman which is still part of the undying lands. Capital Avallone. Then there's Middle Earth which has regions: Lindon, Arnor, Minihiriath, Enedwaith, Forodwaith, Rhovanion, Gondor, Dol Amroth, South Gondor, Near Harad, Far Harad, Khand, Mordor...

Gandalf because he's an all powerful wizard, war starter so Sam and Frodo had enough time... I think thats a goood enough reason.

Yeah, he bought time and made plans. He's the man with the plan. And the power, he killed the balrog.

I read on Wikipedia, that there were more then one balrog, and they used to be good, until MORGOTH corrupted them to serve his will. Also poor Glorfindel got killed by one but the balrog got killed too, so that was a win/lose outcome

Yes, they were spirits of fire until Morgoth and Sauron converted them to evil. The lord of all the balrogs was Gothmog and when Gothmog attacked Gondolin he and Glorfindel killed eachother. (My fav elf, Earendil, was escaping at that point)

I think the real hero was of course Frodo. He had to mostly do everything. I also think that all the characters were the true hero in some way. They did something each to help the war.

You've got a nice point there. But Frodo would've kept the ring until Gollum was stupid enough to attack him. So he really helped out at the end. How ironic. If it weren't for Sam... then he would've been killed before he could even get to Mt. Doom. If Gandalf weren't there... then the company probably couldn't get through Moria. Escpecially with that Balrog crawling around. But I bet Aragorn could've gotten them through. But if Gandalf weren't there then Aragorn couldn't become king. Bah, never mind. I'm gonna stop talking now.
