Hmmmmm. This is an incredibly interesting prospect. Understandably, I will be unable to provide microphones. But we need to get back on topic. What's special about Anguirel? All I've read about it is that Maeglin stole it from his father and it was the twin of Anglachel but that it "comes not into this tale"
Any info on what happened with it?

Grrr, I've still not decided, but Ringil is awesomeness defined, now that I've come across it.

Indeed it is. And now I can speak openly of it without fear of spoiling. Who can resist a sword that chopped off morgoth's foot?

Anguirel was probably lost SPOILERS
when Maeglin was killed by Tuor (sniff-such a dilemma...I really like them both) and hurled from the walls during the Siege of Gondolin.
I imagine it was just like Anglachel, but perhaps a bit smaller.

That's what I thought.
I hated Maeglin. It wasn't black though. SPOILER
Anglachel only became black when they reforged it for Turin in Nargothrond and it became Gurthang. Black and edges rehoned.

anduril.all.the.way. it's a thing of beauty. and when aragorn pulled it from its sheath and that lovely "shing" sound happened? ;D i love that sound. i like aragorn's other sword too. the one when he was still a ranger? very worn-in and you knew that it was a good, strong sword. i have a little daggar in my room and it's right curvy with a dragon's head for the handle......... i love it ;D

Wow, an actual dagger. I need my own sword. Ringil is horrorshow though, 'glitters like ice' and did revenge to the first dark lord.

But do you know what the sword's name is? Or who made it?

Anduril.
Because it is shiny and pretty and sharp and it's not stupidly huge.
I could SO use it to slice my bread.
Or pare apples.
Or have swordfights with television repairmen!

Anduril is awesome. But actually I do think it's pretty big...

So hard to choose, so many great swords in Middle-earth. I voted Anduril, because it is just such a great sword. But at a close tie for second I have Glamdring and Herugrim, King Theoden's sword.

mmmmmm. Good choices. Glamdring rules, it was used against a balrog. Wonder what sword Glorfindel of Gondolin used to kill Gothmog.
