This thread's for all who've read the Silmarillion and other LOTR books not normally read by most of LOTR fandom. I doubt I'll get many posts in here but one never knows; I just ran into someone who'd read the silmarillion twice. Discuss!

I have read the Silmarillion countless times, I have also read The Shaping of Middle-earth and The War of the Ring (the only two Histories I have), and I just got The Children of Húrin, which I shall read soon.

FINALLY someone else who's read the Silmarillion. I'm reading The Shaping of Middle Earth now, and I bought Lays of Beleriand.
What were your fav parts/characters?

My favorite parts of The Silmarillion are the stories of Fëanor, his sons, the Kinslaying, the Tale of Túrin Turambar, and Akallabêth.

They are interesting you should read them. I read them right after 7th grade, so it shouldn't be too difficult a read for you.

True. Yeah, the Silmarillion should be easy to find in the fantasy section.
