this has been bugging me for a longo time:
if the one ring makes you invisible, then why in fotr is sauron visible while he's wearing the ring? i don't get it!

Because the ring acts different with Sauron, he knows how to work its power, so he doesn't turn invisible. Besides he's not human, so he doesn't get affected by the ring like humans and hobbits do. Plus, he's using it for power, not invisibility.

got a point. so does that mean if he wanted to become invisible, he'd just become invisible?? hm... would he ever want to become invisible?

I never noticed that! There goes my observational skills. And as, ya, Sauron isn't a person, more as a dangerous spirit in disguise, then it would affect him differently. It's his ring. And I suppose he could turn invisible if he wanted to. He controls it.

yeah, if he's powerful enough to make the rings of power and his own destroying ring, i think he can easily do whatever he wants.(for the most part)

no one really knows the scope of the rings power except sauron. he created it, so he probably knows how to control is. remember that the ring controls frodo, yet sauron controls the ring

Luna! You're back!
Truley, in the end of the Two Towers book, Sam is wearing the ring for a nearly an hour, I should guess, but he is never seen by the enemy. I always wondered about that too.
