Thoughtful Theories aims to uncover all those ASOUE theories you've wondered about but never posted. There are no limits to this contest. A sense of humour will definitely be appreciated as theories can be spontaneous and silly or in-depth and serious. Being able to back them up with "evidence" is a nice bonus.
Entries should be posted in this thread and will be monitored by a judging panel.
Have fun, and good luck!

I've had this theory for quite some time now but never felt comfortable bringing it to your attention forum.
I beleive that Sunny is actually a vegetable wearing one of Olaf's disguises.
My evidence supporting this is as follows; - shes been described as the size of an eggplant - fits into a casserole dish - she says "i am not a baby"
and finally - during SORE olaf couldn't tell the difference between sunny and a sack of potatoes maybe because there WAS NO DIFERENCE!

I believe that Madame Lulu and Esme are magikarps. Evidence: -Madame Lulu is a madame, as in the kind that runs a brothel. -Esme's full name is Esme Gigi Genevieve Squalor. That screams monkey to me. Then there's the whole leaving Jerome for Olaf thing.

I think Klaus is awesome. Evidence: - He is mad smart. - One of the demands under hypnosis was to act awesome-r, but he didn't do that because it was impossible. - He is just awesome.
I also think that Count Olaf is George Bush. Evidence: - George Bush is greedy. - He can't get arrested because he's president. - He sucks. - his evil laugh- as shown in TGG- sucks, as well as Bush's. - Olaf-Land could be in fact Hawaii, which is why he called it Olaf-land. - Dewey seems like an Obama to me.

Well, I don't think anyone can top that one.

- He can't get arrested because he's president. No. The president can be arrested.

- He can't get arrested because he's president. No. The president can be arrested. I know, but he disobeyed the Bill of Rights and has minions.

haha. the vegetable one is hilarous. haha i love ur signature edina baudelaire. i love that song! if life aint just a joke then why are we laughing?! then why am i dead?! i love mcr hehe x Yay, MCR fan! Oh, and good one BSam! I just saw yours. --- Another one: I believe that BSam wrote most of The Penultimate Peril. Evidence: - He made Esmé wear a bikini. - Everyone died....OR MAYBE JUST THE CHARACTERS HE DIDN'T LIKE? - The End mostly sucked. Perhaps because BSam wrote the end of TPP, forcing Snicket into writer's block? - Some parts were too good, so he couldn't have written all of it. - He called the reader a baby at one point. - Some parts rocked, which he probably helped write. - The Penultimate Peril. He wanted it to be the last book. Isn't it ironic how he joined in 2006, when the series ended?

Page 81 of the UA looks like a man running away at high speed. Evidence: If you make it really narrow, it looks like a stick figure with a fedora. Isn't it ironic how he joined in 2006, when the series ended? Unless that's a different BSam, didn't he actually join much earlier?

This one is serious...
Has anyone every thought ASoUE could be based on the short story 'The Poet' by Herman Hess, or on the song '39 by queen, just listen to the song and tell me there is so conection...

Hmm, I'd always thought that song was about space travelers, or time travelers, but after another listen with this in mind it does seem to fit. Not the actual series of books, but the events that happened in the book written by the Baudelaire parents. Good work on finding that!

I believe that Violet, Klaus, and Sunny Baudelaire are orphans. Evidence: - I think the narrator called them orphans once...not sure, though. - There's a theory stating that their parents died in a fire.
It's the most frivolous theory ever.
