In tcc, violet finds her hair ribbon in olafs pants that they are wearing, and says he must have kept it when he was preparing her for surgery. How can this be since viloet did not even have her hair ribbon when they caught her. She gave it to the man to fool him into thinking it was his keys.

You're not the first one to notice this. There are similar errors to this elsewhere - for example, Violet is wearing her surgical gown beneath her disguise throughout TCC, but when she removes the disguise in TSS she's back in her lost normal clothes. You can explain all these, but you have to infer off-screen detail. In this case: Olaf, or one of his associates, must've been given the fake keys by Hal (or took them), and Olaf recognised the ribbon and kept it. Or something like that.

This isn’t as bad as some of the other instances that happen throughout the series. In this case, you can just assume Olaf took the ribbon and put it in his pocket, which wouldn’t be out of character for him. Other times it’s almost impossible to logically fit in certain points in the series.

Wow, quick eye. Usually I can only tell those types of things in books that really have me intrested like TRR is my fav. but I don't see any errors in that one. I've never been fond of books 7-11.
