- - - - - Dear Reader, After having escaped from quite a jeopardy in the previous installment of YET ANOTHER SERIES OF UNFORTUNATE EVENTS, Violet, Klaus, Sunny and Beatrice have found themselves a new troublesome and weary environment. In this book, titled THE WEARY WASTELAND, they have escaped Jupiter Island only to find more misery in the hinterlands. In this book, they find such weary things as two retired sideshow performers, a bunch of uncommon children, an old junkyard, a hidden stash of newspapers, a life-saving invention, a fast food diner, a vintage motorcycle, and a bunch of very hungry felines. By reading this book you will probably become weary of life itself, so before you become worn-out with the gloom and despair contained in this story, do something a little more joyous instead, like hosting a slumber party. With All Due Respect, Tiago Squalor - - - - -

Interesting! A lot of TCC-like elements; I do wonder what the Baudelaires will be pursued by. (Incidentally, I just realized the double-meaning to "Get lost.")

It's hard to believe we're on the sixth book already. And like Sherry Ann, I would guess that we're likely to encounter some former elements from TCC? (Maybe it'll even have the important figurine... nah, nobody but me remembers that.)

Dante, what was the figurine you're referring to of? (Obviously I'm one of those fans who can't remember. ) Fascinating summary, Tiago, and I think I can guess the identities of the two retired sideshow performers. I don't like the sound of those hungry felines, though. *hides* ;D

Dante, what was the figurine you're referring to of? (Obviously I'm one of those fans who can't remember. ) Throughout TCC, there are these subtle references to a woman who runs a souvenir stand at the carnival, and who at the end of the book is even invited to join Olaf's troupe but who is too busy rescuing her figurines; in TSS, the sinister duo mention that there was important information hidden in a figurine sold at the carnival... It's really easy to miss the whole thread; I'd be surprised if Tiago (or indeed, anyone) ever included it in their fanfiction. There's so much more in TCC that you might notice; indeed, I keep seeing new possibilities when I read Tiago's synopsis.

I'm interested to see that, once again, you are revisiting the scene of one of the previous stories.
*Tries to think of ways to get figurines into The Good Guardian.*

The main reason I most likely missed the connection between the figurine in TCC and TSS is because the gap in which I read each was a bit stretched, I believe. I've noticed, too, that Tiago has very creative and rational explanations for things that have occurred in the canon. By the way, Dante, thank you for answering my question. I really appreciate it. *Tries to think of ways to get figurines into The Good Guardian.* Oohh...knowing how fascinating The Good Guardian is, I'll love to see what sort of idea/ideas you cook up for the figurines. @tiago: Is it terrible if that photograph made me smile? ;D I'm looking forward to seeing how its significance will connect to the events in TWW. ^^

I'm wondering that, too. XD Tiago, you always find the most interesting photographs for Yet Another Series of Unfortunate Events.

That is exactly the kind of thing the Baudelaires would come across, isn't it?

Everyone! Please watch Lady GaGa's video for 'Telephone' even if you don't like her. That way, you'll get certain things I intend to do in TWW.

I do not have a good feeling about that diner. (And I'll try watching "Telephone," too.)
