- - - - - Dear Reader, No one would want to read a book about the Baudelaire orphans, specially THE OMINOUS ORPHANAGE, where Violet, Klaus, Sunny and Beatrice Baudelaire encounter many others who are - maybe - just as unfortunate as they are, at an orphanage called Old Oaks. In this dreadful book, they find four cruel teachers, twice as much unfortunate orphans, an orchard full of secrets, relatives of friends long lost, a false widow, onion soup and poison oak. There is not a thing to be gained from reading this book, unless you are an orphan who can relate to the Baudelaires. If that is not the case, do like the evil woman mentioned above and bury this book where you think no one will find it. With All Due Respect, Tiago Squalor - - - - -

This sounds good so far. I loved TAA, and I'm very eager to see what Esme hid at the roots of the dead tree. I guess it'll be some time before we find out that part, though. Still, I'm really looking forward to TOO. It won't be long before we see the teasers, I suppose? Goody.
With all due respect.

You just finished TAA, and already you've begun the thread for TOO (along with your other fic, too, I've noticed ). I wouldn't expect anything less from you, Tiago. Like Sherry Ann and Dante have already expressed, this sounds like it's going to be a seriously amazing installment. It's the one I've been eagerly anticipating, as you know, and anything Esme-related sends me into fits of excitement, so to speak. ;D I'm really looking forward to this. *Edit* Lovely banner, by the way. And just in time for fall!

This does sound quite exciting--ah, I haven't expressed that yet for this installment, surely?--and I agree that your banner is very in-season.

Dear E, The following letter comes from the personal desk of Olive Oakley, as it was passed down to me by one of the orphans. named P. I safekept this in the Bank of Ophelia before I returned to the city in the midnight train, along with the diary. I must write what went down in the Orphanage during E's visit, and what ensued after the Baudelaires arrived. I still have mud alloged under my nails after all that digging, and annoying poison oak rashes. Do you have any idea what can soothe them? Yours truly,
T P.s.: Have you received the lattest rubber duck from A? Olive, A widow from the city, Ms. Squalor, will be arriving shortly, looking to adopt one of our orphans. Welcome her and do your best so that she adopts one of them. I'd hate to see the kids go away, as I'll miss them, but they all deserve a chance to have a family. Ms. Squalor also has four adopted children with her. Also, have you hired new teachers? We are understaffed, despite having N, Mr. R, and Ms. B, and Ms. P. Your brother,
Oliver P.s.: Otto says hello!

Initials are a part of aSoUE you've really taken to heart, haven't you? Heh, anyway, this is quite intriguing and I look forward to hearing more.

There are lots of great details in this one. N, Mr. R, and Ms. B sound rather familiar, and I wonder if they're the original or parallels. Either way, this looks very promising.

Yay! More teasers! Umm...where to start? I, too, am thoroughly enjoying your ongoing use of initials. And, even though we have yet to meet them, I've already formed a positive opinion about Olive and Oliver, as they seem quite nice. I suppose they'd have to be, though, wouldn't they, since they're acquainted with Dr. Audrey. By the way, what's the story behind the rubber duck? I vaguely remember reading something about that in a previous installment of YASoUE.

Very exciting.
So E has four adopted children with her? I suppse she has - C, C, N and N. And now she wants to adopt another! How nice of her.
At least we know what O, O and O stand for. Yes, the teachers who are with O - where are they teaching? - are fascinating. I wonder who Ms P. can be.
As for the rubber duck - I can think of a quite well-known A who is associated with a rubber duck, but I guess he can't be the one who is meant.
Edit: and E now claims to be a widow, does she? When she was marrying C she said she was single, and 'Squalor' was her maiden name. Of course, she may actually be a widow - I'm not sure if we have found out yet whether J was killed in the fire.

@dante: Yes, thank you!
@sherry Ann: Thank you!
@emmz: Oliver and Otto are absent from the orphanage, or at least were during the time the Baudelaires were there. So we'll only meet Olive - at least, for now - About the rubber ducks, they have something to do with Book the Ninth - of YASoUE -
@hemres: Yes, but Esmé's true motives of course, are not adoption. The fact that E said her maiden name is Squalor and that she was single is very relevant to this book, and I can say some answers will be given; but J's fate...I can't say a thing about that. hehe ^^'

Dear E, The following clipping is from The Daily Owl, the Ophelian newspaper, owned by a sub-branch of The Daily Punctilio. Something tells me The Daily Owl is not worth the ink it's printed with, perhaps you'll agree with me. But the importance of this clipping is not under question. Please compile this into the file I sent you, along with the diary and everything else. It was not safe keeping it here anymore. I copied the contents, of course, so if I'm caught with them, I can burn them and know the originals are still with you. With all due respect, T The Daily Owl All the news in feathers and ink
