Chapter Ten: Oh! How nice it was to see the return of my favorite female would-be pirate! It would have been more of a surprise had I not accidentally glanced her name while scrolling down the page, but it was still a joy, all the same. It was so sweet the way Elizabeth held Sunny and Beatrice on her lap, and the fact that Elizabeth and Tiago know each other is also very cool. It was a great relief, as well, to know that Lars has recovered from his injuries, and that he and Charles are safe. And that they are, hopefully, starting a relationship now, or in the near future. LOL. I figured as much. The way Elizabeth's character has developed since The Shivery Shrine and how you've shown it in her explanation of Wayne caring for her is very well done. We know how important pride is to her, and how self-reliant she is, which go hand-in-hand with the strength it must have taken her to accept help. Like you said, it's she who's usually the one shouting out giving orders. We might be getting our first snowfall of the season this weekend, and I have nothing going on, so I'll have time to read the remaining chapters. I can't wait to see how The Nefarious Neighborhood ends, and to get started on The Tragic Train. *Edit* The final five chapters are posted on the previous page, everyone. Reason for Editing: I meant to say "Chapter Ten", not "Thirteen". My bad. ^^''

Chapter Eleven: Such an exciting, informative, and action-packed chapter that was, Tiago! Although it was always doubtful that Reiko was the R of the canon, I never expected Reiko's true identity to be as unexpected and surprising as all this. It's also got me wondering - with chills, mind you - what became of the Duchess' mother. There is much to be debated behind Elizabeth's bold words to Akira Yazawa concerning his "late wife's fortune". ‘Where is she?’ Klaus asked Violet as he walked by with a tray filled with sushi and placed it on a customer’s table. ‘She said nine-thirty. Its nine-twenty-eight now!’ He whispered to Violet.
‘It is nine-thirty-two.’ Klaus said.God, he's as time-conscious as me! I get the same way, when I have an appointment to keep and the cab is more than five minutes late. And draw them I shall - right into a future chapter of V.F.D. Training Days. Thank you very much for providing me with even more inspiration, Tiago.

We were without telephone/cable/internet hookup for most of the weekend, and so I've only just gotten around to reading the final two chapters. But I must say the wait was well worth it, and I have much to comment on. The sword fight between Elizabeth and Reiko reminded me so much of the one between Uma Thurman's and Lucy Liu's characters in Kill Bill: Vol. 2. (Which just so happens to be one of my favorite films, I might add. ) The imagery created a very clear, intense picture (i.e. Elizabeth's injuries, blood-stained floor, and fire all around), making everything seem as real as it would if we'd been observing in real life or on screen. It's terrible that the Baudelaires were forced to leave Elizabeth and the Higurashis. But it's obvious they did so as a way to protect Sunny and Beatrice. Still, I am optimistic that we will see her again. After all, she's faced near-death in The Shivery Shrine (and many times before that, I am sure). [/i] And Esme Squalor was thought to have perished in the fire at Hotel D, but lived to tell the tale. I was glad to see the return of the 667ers, as well. I had a feeling they'd be back, and it's good to hear that Jerome's home wasn't destroyed beyond repair. So I guess the Squalors must be good friends of the Anwhistles', too, eh? Did your Jerome also attend Training School with Elizabeth? ^^ I was very glad to see Violet's suitcase was the item to turn up in the locker at Tenenbaum Train Station (great name for a train station, btw; inspired by the Royal Tenenbaums, perchance? ). It would have been a tragedy to end all tragedies, had the sugar bowl been lost! MY GOD. It's hard to believe there's only going to be one more installment left in Yet Another Series of Unfortunate Events! That makes me sad, but also happy because it's always fun to see how a long series ends. And you have other stories in the works as well, like The Esme Diaries, which is the one I'm most interested in reading, since its main focus is on my favorite character. Then again, you know by now how much I love everything you write, so anything you post I'll respond more than happily to. Anyway, congratulations on completing yet another episode of YASoUE. In the meantime, we'll continue to look forward to the future masterpieces of Tiago Squalor.

Thank you Emmz, for the lovely comments and feedback. ^^ I have to say, though, the fight that inspired the fight between Reiko and Elizabeth, the fight that Uma Thurman and Lucy Liu have takes place in Kill Bill Vol.1, not Vol.2.

You are most welcome, Tiago; I'm so glad you enjoyed reading what I had to say. I had thought Lucy Liu's character didn't appear until Vol. 2...I guess that's fate's way of telling me I need to watch the films again. ;D
