Congratulations to BSam, Willis and Nominatissima, you sure deserved those awards.
One would imagine 667 Dark Avenue to be, well, a very dark place. Surprisingly enough, here we can find numerous people that bring light and happiness to this tall building through their kindness, support and compassion. The nominees for Most Compassionate are:
-Sophie Baudelaire: A new face here in 667 Dark Avenue, who has quickly proven to be very friendly and understanding of people's feelings.
-LSWannaBe: Who has never failed to show support when some of us needed it.
-Fancy: A fun member who got people laughing even in hard times.
-Countess Violet: Now, I know this is a polemic nominee, but if we just try to forget her shocking departure, we'll see that she was never disrepectful to any of us and showed great kindness to people like LSWannaBe, Brunch and even to me, sometimes.
-Tiago Squalor: A loyal friend who always stood up for what he felt right.
-Emma Squalor: Well, you guys know Emma Squalor. BSam is to cleverness as Emma is to kindness.
And the winner of Most Compassionate is (drumroll please)...
EMMA SQUALOR! Congratulations Emma, you deserve it.

-LSWannaBe: Who has never failed to show support when some of us needed it. Is it weird that I started tearing up when I read this? ??? ??? Why am I crying so much today? Haha, anyway. Congratulations, Emma. You truly are my best friend in this world, you're a friend to all of us, you're always there when we need you, you always come prepared with nice things to say. You're a huge part of my life, Emma, I don't know what I'd do if I ever lost you. *tears up again* OK, I'm going now. Haha.

Hello, 667ers! So the Darkies Awards Show is here again, and I get to present an award this year - the Funniest Member Award, to be exact. I remember back when I first joined, I was a bit confused when the members here toss sarcastic (sometimes to the point of offensive, but just slightly) remarks back and forth around the forum - I even PMed another 667er mijahu to specifically ask whether this was something normal - but I've grown used to it now and have learned that this is actually how 667ers joke around. This, err, questionable sense of humour have caused some members to explode before, *cough* doyourememberMVand667darkapocalypse?*cough* but I guess if you stick around, you'll get used to it. tl;drThe nominees for the Funniest Member Award are (and hey, why not have that fancy cutaways as we view the nominees? i have too much free time): BSam Bryan Hermedy Willis F.D. LSWannaBe Sixteen And the Funniest Member Award goes to BSam! woo congratulations!!

A man of my acquaintance once noted, “Society is like a stew. You have to stir it up every once in a while or else a layer of scum will float to the top.” Sure enough, that man died from esophageal hemorrhaging. Probably from eating too much stew. With that in mind, please join me in welcoming the nominees for 667 Dark Avenue’s Best New Member Award! Brunch Sophie Baudelaire Countess Violet And … Andressa! From this delicious recipe of competence, activity, and general benevolence, one of these nominees has stirred our stew quite thoroughly. Please put your hands together for … Sophie Baudelaire!

Is it odd to find it hilarious that the last time I looked at this thread there were two posts (including my own), and when I return there was twenty-two? XD Well, twenty-three since I started typing this. LOL! BSam and Willis: Congratulations, you two! There have been many famous comedy teams, and you two are no exception. @shelly: That was an awesome speech! I love that you mentioned Quiglet. ^^ Lady Whatever: Congratulations! You have such wonderful taste in art, and I love how your avatar and signature have always reflected that. songbird: You give a fantastic speech, and your category is a wonderful new edition to the Darkies. BSam: Congratulations, man! Your ability to make others laugh is a gift that has brought many smiles and chuckles to everyone around you. tk: Your speech was absolutely great, and the graphic/banner was a nice touch. I wasn't expecting it, so that made seeing it twice as fun. sophie: Congratulations, my dear! I've very much enjoyed our exchange of words across the forums, and reading your wonderful stories. I hope you see this thread soon, and are as proud of yourself as we all are of you. @sherry Ann: Terrific speech! The imagery between human qualities and stew is so charming and creative. It's unfortunate, though, if you really were acquainted with someone who died of esophageal hemorrhaging. If so, then you have my sincerest sympathies. Thank you so much for that "most compassionate" speech, Fredy, and to everyone for your heartfelt congratulations. I am truly honored. 667 and its residents have been like a second home and family to me for nearly five years now. When I was away for the a month, I felt so empty - like something was missing. You could say I felt like a peanut-butter sandwich without the potato chips. Needless to say, it feel great to be home again. And Beth, my God, I almost cried, too, when I read what you wrote. I truly don't know what to say, other than I promise to make your visit to New York something to always remember. Thank you, darling. P.S: I haven't opened my PMs yet, but I think there are some banners in there. I'll get those out to the winners later today, and post them here, too, so everyone can admire them. You presenters have done an incredible job, and I hope everyone is enjoying the Darkies so far. ^^

@sherry Ann: Terrific speech! The imagery between human qualities and stew is so charming and creative. It's unfortunate, though, if you really were acquainted with someone who died of esophageal hemorrhaging. If so, then you have my sincerest sympathies. It was a parody of the opening line of TSS, which implied Lemony Snicket was acquainted with Robert Frost. Likewise, you'll be glad to know I have no connection with Edward Abbey.
