Ladies, Gentlemen, Gender Rebels, and Otherwise Indeterminate,
In the immortal words of John Hurt: "When people told themselves their past with stories, explained their present with stories, foretold the future with stories, the best place by the fire was kept for... the Storyteller." Appropriate, since the need to tell our stories, share them, jotting them down in ink-stained notebooks, typing them up on creaking typewriters with withered ribbons, burns through the veins of 667 Dark Avenue with fiendish relish. This scorching for a story has touched many authors, each with their own work contending for the honour of Best Story in this year's Darkies. The nominees are: A New Regime by Sixteen Yet Another Series of Unfortunate Events by Tiago Squalor Forbidden by Sophie Baudelaire Spellbound by Sophie Baudelaire Star-Crossed by Leanora Crowe The Story of Lemony and Beatrice by Brunch V.F.D. Training Days by Emma Squalor
And the winner, the name of which shall burn with eternal glory is...
A New Regime By none other than that teller of tumultuous tales, Sixteen! Congratulations, Sixteen, for your legendary literary prowess does indeed incur praise.

Congratulations, Sixteen! I have not yet had the pleasure of reading A New Regime, but be assured I will be soon. And excellent speech, nominatissima! Your way with words and graphics skills truly complement each other.

Congratulations:
Dante - I've said many things about your contribution to 667 before, and I won't repeat them at length; suffice it to say we all value you very much.
Sixteen - It's good to see this award going to a 667fic again; the genre seems to be going through something of a revival (with a new one started this very day). It was a great story.
(Best thread coming up soon.)

While we have awards for writing, art and (in 'Most Unfortunate') Snicketological discussion, many of the most interesting conversations on the site happen in threads that aren't so easy to classify. The Best Thread award allows us to honour anything from any part of the site which we have found enjoyable. This year, the rules have been relaxed to allow in not only threads started in the last twelve months, but also older threads that have proved durable.
The nominees are: ATWQ Speculation Thread by Brunch How do you picture other 667ers? by Sophie Baudelaire Odd ASOUE Real-Life Coincidence Thread by Dante The Feel Free to Post Whatever You Like Thread by Sora 667's History by Bryan Where on Earth is Emma Squalor? by Tiago Squalor ASOUE Headcanons by Brunch
And the winner is .... Odd ASOUE Real-Life Coincidence Thread.
I think this is the longest-running thread on 667, and certainly one of the most popular. This is an honour for everyone who has contributed to the thread - i.e. most of us - but the award goes to the person who initially came up with this brilliant idea: Dante.

Congratulations, Dante, it's a personal favourite of mine. I also extend congratulations to everyone else who has won, all well-deserved! And thanks to you, those who helped me win "Best Profile Decoration", I'm quite honoured!

It seems that Dante decided to take BSam's place for a day. I won't lie, he's doing a pretty good job.

Congratulations again, Dante! I always thought yours a really cool thread and think I may have even posted in it once. *Edit* Wonderful speech, Hermes! What a "coincidence" that you would be the one to present this award, when it was you - and I believe Sherry Ann, as well - who first suggested there be an exception for the rule regarding the nominations of threads exceeding one year.
