I have now discovered that there are two VFDoors.
I tried to draw a map of the mansion, but when I had almost finished I found there was in fact a map concealed there. this raised new puzzles, obviously.
Terry, the two letters written on the piano roll may be a clue to what the tune is.
As for the significance of the letters, you will find at least one place where they might be relevant. Unfortunately I have not got all the letters....

Aha! I shall definitely have to return, then, sometime soon. You've unlocked many mysteries that I wish to investigate for myself, Hermes.
Edit: I unlocked every single mystery I found, went everywhere, did everything. All that's left is the secret of the letters I discovered. And yet... I seem to be missing a letter. Or on second thoughts, am I? This will have to wait for tomorrow...

This is fantastic. I'm working my way through the mansion right now. Nice way to spend time after finals week

Ooh, I was so sure I had figured something out about the poem in the library, but it didn't work :/ Hrmm. This is a really brilliant interactive fiction, though. I love how you thought of all these little details (sugar bowl heh); they really make it fun EDIT: Wait no oh my goodness I got the poem thing. That was pretty cool.

I thought I was just stuck on the anagram, but now that I think about it, I've never encountered a second Verncularly Locked Door (as opposed to something else that's locked). The game does change depending on which way you go around the house; where have I missed it?

Tryina, try Googling the first line. Have you solved the puzzle of the poem in the Library? Ah, thanks. ...This just leads back in the direction I came from! I really thought it could've been a lead. Oh well, back to the anagram!

I must admit the first time I read the poem it did not strike me that it was a puzzle.. My volunteer training is growing rusty!
Dante, if you have all the letters but one you must have seen more things than me. Also, solving the poem in the Library should lead you to at least one other significant thing.

I might even have all of the letters, but I'm not sure about one of them. Even so, that should be enough to draw some conclusions about the anagram, but nothing looks quite safe enough. I really am sure that I've been everywhere now, though.

Those are the false words. What are the real words that replace them? The two Vernacularly Fastened Doors are triggered when entering the study. There are two ways to enter the study.
