How would you feel if one of the characters in the series had your name? Would you be upset if a character who shared your name was a character you disliked? Discuss this and other topics about characters sharing your name.

I would feel honoured. As it is I am ashamed that the only reason that people can pronounce my name is Twilight. It saddens me immensely.

I was named after a little girl in a book who jumps down from the rooftop with an umbrella. Nothing can shock me.

My name is too weird to be put in any book.

My name is too weird to be put in any book. Now, Trynia, don't be so sure! When I heard your first name I put it in my notebooks for character naming, and if I ever get a novel published, it's not unlikely that there'll be a Jesslyn in it.

My first and middle names came from book characters as well. Little Women ;D *has an unbelievably awesome mother who has a great taste in names*

My first name is likely to be found in non fiction books only.

There's a famous comic series that has a main character with the same given name as me.

If people are really interested in broadening out this topic, I can move it to OWWorld or MMisc, where there won't be an obligation to be Snicket-related.

Series-related, I do share the first name of Geraldine Julienne's last name. It's not the best, but it's neat to see my name printed in the series nonetheless.

I would actually be shocked because my name's not common. I think I've only read one short story with a character with my name, and she was a stereotypical boneheaded, wide-shouldered, reckless, nasty bully who overused schoolyard insults.
Yay. Wonder what it says about the connotations of my name.
