This is kindof random and I don't even know if I'm placing it in the right spot but what were your favorite and leas favorite books from ASOUE? I didn't really have a favorite but if I had to pick one it would be between TWW, TMM, TAA,THH,TGG and TPP. (yeah. only one.) And for least I love all of them dearly but I didn't get as much of a thrill out of TVV and TCC as I did in the other ones.. what about all of you?
what am I doing with my life

Yes, this is the right place for this post I can't pick only one, but I can pick two favourites: TSS and TPP. And least favourite is not the right word, but I would say TMM is on 13th place.

I can only really say the same as Anka, But I prefer TSS to TPP, but only just.

We do have a poll thread for ranking the books, but it's a year and a half since anyone posted in it, so we may as well resume discussion here. But it's relevant to refer to the results, and I think it's telling that, as a favourite book, TMM is the only option with zero votes. It's also no coincidence that the later books got more votes, as they are, frankly, just better. Handler was more experienced, had more intricate plans, more ambitious themes.

Certainly also TPP is a popular choice. As the denouement of the series, the book was very successful.

Obviously it is far less better than the books after it, but I really don't understand why people don't like TMM so much. I first starting reading ASoUE when I was around six, and I know a near-toddler's brain works a lot different in its judgement of how good a book is than an older person's, but for me the fourth book was when the series first started picking up. Still now I think the first three books of the series are too repetitive even for something that's intentional, and TMM was when the story began to really have an air of mystery added to it instead of repeating the same format the series had taken as of then. Plus, Sir, Charles, and Phil are all characters that gain some importance later in the series.

Because there's too much ridiculous stuff going on. Hypnotism isn't real. A baby can't have a swordfight with a grown woman, and nobody can have a swordfight using their teeth. Klau's invention is nonsensical. The understanding of how a sawmill works is beyond nonsensical.

There's too much "ridiculous" stuff going stuff throughout the series, if you think like that. My favourite books are probably TPP and TE. TE has really grown on me since I first read it. My least favourite is probably TMM too. I don't think it's when things start picking up, I think TAA is when things pick up. The only reason it's my least favourite is because when reading the series as a whole, by the fourth book, I'm hoping the plot will change up a bit... and it doesn't.

Even if you do think TMM is bad, I don't think saying it was too ridiculous can logistically be argued in the case of ASoUE; TBB also has a nonsensical understanding of how the legal system works, and of course everyone knows that 667 Dark Avenue's staircase couldn't really take hours to climb.

Favourite was TSS, and I also enjoyed TEE, TPP, and THH a great deal. Least favourite is probably TMM.

God, like everyone else I loved TPP, but I also loved TGG, which seemingly no-one else has picked

TMM isn't just absurd, it's absurd for its place in the series. Many entries in the series feature cartoony and unrealistic ideas, but TMM has a lot of them. It's also worth bearing in mind that not a lot actually happens in the book, Olaf isn't in it much, Klaus isn't in it much... we can't say that everyone dislikes it, but there are reasons why it would fall to the bottom of the pile. For myself, the setting just doesn't interest me very much. It's an example of an early-series book with a lot of ideas thrown in that have nothing to do with each other and don't serve much purpose. It would've been a lot better if Handler had written it a couple of years later.
