Ms. Anwhistle M, Further to our previous discussion, I can now confirm that I will be unable to attend the Darkies in person to present the Best Artist award. Fortunately, I have been able to encode my speech into the following slides, which I would greatly appreciate being posted at an appropriate juncture. Regards, -Dante 2014 DARKIES: BEST ARTIST AWARD PRESENTATION

are you trying to tell us something? Oh dear, I should have seen that coming. No, absolutely not. I was just pointing out the space of possibilities.

Once upon a time, there was a forum named 667 Dark Avenue. This forum was founded on a series of books, and as such storytelling was extremely important to its citizens. Besides discussing the stories of their beloved Lemony Snicket, many of them wrote their own stories. Many of these writers were quite talented, and the citizens loved to read the stories these writers told. One day, though, there was a proclamation given throughout the land. Anka the page announced to all that a valuable prize called a Darkie would be given to the storyteller who could write the best story. And so the competition began. Many brave storytellers toiled long and hard, each of them eager to win this elusive Darkie. The wily Dante got an early start, turning his speech of the previous Darkie awards into his submission. Mister M turned his advent submission into a multi-chapter saga (with a sequel!). The Duchess, new though she was, wasted no time in writing a speculative fanfiction of ATWQ, told through the eyes of Kit Snicket. Sixteen had tied for Best Writer the previous year and was dismayed to see that there was only one category to win in writing this year. Just to be safe, he wrote two stories: one about a very big day and one about a bunch of sad French people. Willis, a winner of the Best Story Darkie the previous year, also wrote two stories, one a sequel to the first Dark Tournament and the other about violence against burglars. But alas it was Q.R.V., a relative unknown on the forum, who managed stealthily cut through his foes to snag the title of Best Storyteller with his interactive story/game, Number Fourteen. Congratulations, Q.R.V.!

(I made a cool video, but i couldn't upload it. So I'm using a different font to pretend I'm not boring.) humor is very important in life, because it makes us happy. Without humor we will be sad, and that is a bad thing. Humor is also what brought us here, because without humor A Series of Unfortunate Events will be just a really depressing and boring book series about orphans. The people who are said to be the "funniest" on 667 dark avenue are:
Sophie Pen BSam Bryan Pandora Bee Willis Mister M abominate Bandit Teleram Lucas
and the darkie goes to...
BSam and Bandit! congratulations!
