Welcome to the Darkies of 2015, the year of 667's 13th anniversary!
In this post there will soon be something like a schedule, and whenever anything new is happening I will post it here.
right now until next Thursday (23.4.) Friday Morning (24.4.) - talking about categories andd ther suggestions and stuff - From Monday: poll about the special category Friday, 24.4. - Friday, 1.5. - nominations - people who make banners and presentations should be found but probably won't Saturday, 2.5. - Monday, 4.5. - pre-voting in categories with very many nominations Tuesday, 5.5. - Wednesday, 13.5. - voting - banners can be made without names, presenters should think about ideas for that Wednesday, 13.5. (evening) - voting will be over, banner makers and presenters get the names of winners, so they can finish their stuff Thursday, 14.5. - Saturday, 16.5. - prepare banners and presentations Saturday, 16.5. - Sunday, 17.5. - award presentations
Do you think this is okay or do we need more time for anything?

i was going to suggest more time for various things, but it seems like a decent schedule.

Could I make one suggestion, that probably goes here better than anywhere else? In the olden days Most Valued Poster always came last, and was presented by Hermedy. I guess we couldn't get Hermedy to do it now, but I think it would be nice to have it last, as the high point of the ceremony, once again. Perhaps the Darkies organiser could present it - or, if she's nominated, some other senior and notable person.

I think we can do that, but only if we have a deadline when all other presentations must be over and of course if people keep that deadline...

Well, isn't there generally a time given for the ceremony to end? Of course, if one of the presenters fails to turn up before the scheduled time, you'd have to go ahead and present MVP anyway - that has happened before.

There hasn't really been a time where it ends in the last two years. The ceremony was planned for Saturday and Sunday, but there are timezones and some people presented their awards when it was already Monday in some places.

Small change: I just realised that on Friday I can't make nomination threads until like 12 or 1 my time, so on Friday morning there is still time for the rest of the stuff that needs to be done before, for example the special award category poll.

The two polls which have to be done before the nominations are over now. The results are that we will NOT change Best Pairing to Best Group, and that the special award category will be Most 13 Year Old. This is an explanation of what it is for: It can be the member who has been here the longest, has been most consistent over 667's 13 years, the one who resonates most with Lemony Snicket or simply the most childlike (note childlike, not 'childish'). In short, it can be whatever you want to be. Since it's such a broad category that can be explained in many different ways, for every nomination you will need to explain why. I will start making the nomination threads now.

The nomination threads have been made now. Please read what the first post says before you start posting nominations, in some of them there is some extra information about what to include in the nominations.
Also I'm really bad at identifying jokes, so every nomination which is allowed by the rules will just be taken seriously, except if you actually say that it's a joke.
It would be nice if you could not post anything other than your nominations in the nomination threads and even nicer if you look who is already nominated and don't repeat other people's nominations, so it's easier for me to find them all. If you have any comments or want to say anything else, you can create a new thread or post it in any of the existing Darkies threads, like this one for example.

Whenever someone says 'I nominate A and B', my first reaction is to think of them as a pairing, though it normally isn't meant that way. I just saw Pen's nomination of me and Bee for MVP, and thought 'Me and Bee! What?'.

About the end of nomination time:
Until Friday evening, you can make as many nominations as you like. On Saturday morning I will see how many nominations there are in each category. If there are more than 17 people nominated in a category, I will make a poll for the pre-voting. If there are less than 17 people nominated, you can keep nominating until Sunday evening, but only until there are 17 nominations. After the 17th nomination, the thread will be locked. Of course if there are exactly 17 nominations on Saturday morning, the nominations for this category will just end there.

Please check if your nominations are added to the lists in the first post in the nomination threads before the nominations end.

But they won't be closing yet unless there are lots of them, right?

There are some spaces left for nominations in each category, so you can keep nominating until they are full or until Sunday
