Overnight my time, the Q came to a close and the A began and ended! Sorry for not giving people better warning of this; it completely slipped my mind. You can read Lemony Snicket's answers as replies to the comments on the original page, that being here: www.facebook.com/video.php?v=1103072546373642No major new information, but there are a couple of possible hints in there.

Carrot-turmeric waffles, eh? I guess when one sets the bar low by announcing that their least favourite food is arsenic, one will try anything.
Nice to know Mr S kept in touch with some of his associates from ATWQ.

This is one of the questions and answers from the latest Lemony Snicket Q&A. I was surprised that something deliberately called "a clue" from Snicket himself, concerning some post-ATWQ Snicket work, hasn't been discussed more (or at least that it's managed to escape my own attention until now). After a quick google search, my best guess is that it is a clue to the title of the next Snicket series, and that it will either be called or contain the words "Strange Tales" or "Strange Stories". I don't think it would be out of character for DH to name a series after the works of a seventeenth-century Chinese writer who is, at least in western culture, rather obscure, and 'Strange' is a relatively Snickety word. I also think it's very appropriate for LS to take inspiration from a writer who uses a thematic naming scheme for his titles. Of course, it might refer to some completely different connection to the writer, or a red herring or misleading half-truth. What do you think? EDIT: Oh, apparently we already have a thread for that Q&A, I forgot about that. I suppose it'd be much easier to keep track if this was just merged into that thread. =/

The simple fact is that he did another interview not too long ago in which he declared that he didn't have another new series in the works, so either he was foreshadowing a potential single volume of stories... or, and I'm afraid this is my theory, he was simply pointing to the next item on his reading list.

Uh, Dante, don't shatter our fun!
Just kidding! Btw, a collection of short stories like FU13 would be nice.

Uh, Dante, don't shatter our fun! Why break the habit of a lifetime? That's a bad habit, and you should be in rehab for it!

Well, it's possible that he had no plans for a new series in February but had formed some by July. For any literary plan there must be a moment when it first comes into being. Or indeed, given the other things he said in the February interview, it's possible that 'in the works' should be read as 'actually being worked on now', as opposed to a long term plan.
Or, of course, perhaps not. I do hope that the disappointing response to ATWQ hasn't made him give up, or devote himself only to picture books in future.

He answered my question. I tried to be sneaky and get a real answer, which failed, but I did like the response.

What question would he want readers to ask?.

Yes, I looked through the questions and thought it might be that. Nice try; better luck next time.

Concerning this: In a new Daniel Handler interview -- -- he mentions: That is of interest. That is all.

Ho, interesting. And it is definitely Mr Snicket who is working on this, not Mr Handler. (I suppose Mr Handler is busy with the Netflix series.)
