I couldn't resist branching off Sophie's "good lyrics" topic. These are sentences picked out of prose/poetry/plays, that you think stand alone as exceptionally beautiful/clever/good. Please note that this is not "good quotes" or "good paragraphs." One sentence.
I'll start off with what got me thinking about is thread in the first place-- an incredibly lovely (and admittedly hefty) sentence from Finnegans Wake.

A semi-colon in the sentence is kinda cheating, isn't it. Neat sentence (and rest of the short story) though.
