montrac4 Some people who submitted their applications after the first wave of acceptances got theirs when the second wave rolled out, and the application is still on the website, so I'd say yes is a safe bet. It is a club, so I guess it would be weird to close applications after just a few months. (I hope so, anyway, I keep forgetting to purchase a stamp and post mine.)

Messages from Handler say "membership is free but selective, and subject to occasional re-upping", as well, so there may be a point where everyone has to re-apply. |

Curious how selective he is being. Seems most posters in this thread made it in.
Anyways, just sent off my application. Handler recommends great books and I'll be noting what he's sending people regardless of if my application proves sufficient.

Yeah, I think that on some level, that's what been keeping me from submitting mine as well - the thought of writing something which one of my literary idols might read (which must sound a bit silly to the bunch of people here who have already had their works of various kinds commented on by him).
Anyway, a question to those of you who have sent these in - did you just write your anecdote in your own hand on the back of the form, or did you print it? I've written an idea for mine now, but it's about 600 words, and in my clumsy handwriting, I'm pretty sure that won't fit.
