a while back (i don't remember where) terry craig posted an incredibly rad book cover done by Edward Gorey. that was pretty sweet when that happened, but i've since decided that there must be even radder book covers out there. show them to me!! also please note that you shouldn't judge a book by its cover; many terrible books have rad covers, and vice versa. i don't care if you've developed a soft spot for such-and-such terrible book cover because it subtly hints at the duality of Susie's true desires, which if you'd just read the book...... NO. to be a rad book cover, it has to achieve full radness with no context. that being said, here's a rad book cover

It was this thread and Gorey did hundreds of great book cover designs. I also found these two book covers on my hard drive bc I liked their design:

ungh, that flickr page is a goldmine. i actually owned a few of those books without realizing they were Gorey covers. whoever John Bellairs is, he's a very lucky author.

I've actually put several of the short story anthologies on my to read-list because of their intriguing titles and covers. And full disclosure, I discovered some time ago that Edward Gorey's personal library is catalogued on the web, and I might've spent hours browsing through it and bookmarking dozens of books.
Sorry for the Gorey derail
PS: Don't know if that was sarcasm, but Bellairs was actually referenced in ATWQ! (The Trolley to Yesterday, I think it was)

i've thoroughly judged the Edward Gorey page by now and i think my favorites are by far "What Nigel Knew" and "Devils & Demons"

This is the best picture I could get. It doesn't entirely do justice to the radness.

gtfo you do not know the definition of rad The radness of an item is measured by opinions, and is not a stable scale. Something which is rad for a person might look horrible to others, so shut up and don't be so negative. I consider the book covers I posted above to be rad. The pictures I found don't do them justice anyway; you gotta see them IRL.

that may be true sometimes but in this case those covers are objectively terrible

Maybe you don't like the kind of stuff; I'm OK with that. From an aesthetic standpoint, I like how the cover designer made the model of the cover seem to be in a room of mirrors, how the reflections are aligned, and how the colors blend so well with what the model was wearing. I can recommend you another cover that I like. Maybe you'd think this is better than the ones I posted earlier.
