Who'd have thought Lemony meant his official representative?

It has appeared here. In my neighbourhood at least, it is being sold as (old) adult fiction, not as YA.
It is very short, perhaps a novella.
It includes a list of works by the same author, but for the Snicket titles it says (list available on request), suggesting he wants to distance this from the Snicket books, for obvious reasons.

alternatively, it's his publisher's efforts to distance it, not handler's

Yes indeed. They may be regretting emphasising the Snicket connection with Watch Your Mouth. No doubt this is also why it's being sold as adult fiction, though it's clearly YA by the 'protagonist's age' criterion which seems to be the rule nowadays.
Well, it's quite interesting. I felt the two parts of the story didn't fit together perfectly. I also wasn't sure what was happening at the end.
Why do all Cole's girlfriends (or not-girlfriends) begin with A? (Though it later emerges one of them didn't.) Is he planning to work through the alphabet? But none of them is called Andrea, sadly.
I was a bit puzzled in advance by the name 'Grisaille', but it is pointed out within the book that this isn't a regular name; here father, who chose it, is a famous artist and so named her after an artistic style.

I just read this “novel.” I amused myself in being reminded of this quote about the Rtusamhara of Kalidasa: “The sensuality and cloying love depicted in these verses is such that it cannot bring fame to any poet.”
the prose has a strong flavor of being written on a legal pad in a café in San Francisco.
there’s a quasi-cryptic boast in there about DH and Lisa Brown still getting it on. Handler?? I hardly know er!!!!
was DH really this horny, and triumphantly so, in high school? why else would he be writing about such cataclysmically horny teen-agers as a middle aged man? and why would he be so haunted by days of promiscuity anyway?
Virgin DH and Chad LS: worldwide-bestselling-author LS is gumshoeing around a whimsical cultural vortex outside of standard chronology, acting the secret-stepdad / guardian angel to his ex’s genius kids….. while the twice-cancelled wannabe-YA-guru DH is just sat in NorCal on his laptop doomscrolling p0rnhub “for research”
