Hello! I'm Kat. I used to have an account here quite a while ago but I've since forgotten my username and I was even more embarrassing back then than I am now so I think it's best to just leave that in the past.
I made a new account because I've been lurking for the past few months and I figured I might as well join in case I feel like I have anything to say.
I read (and re-read, and re-read, and re-read, and so on...) the books as a kid, and the Netflix show has just reignited the love I had for them. I'm slowly re-reading the books again for the first time in yearssss and I'm currently on the Slippery Slope.

Hi Kat! It's great to see that the Netflix show is also reawakening older fans' love of the books. Is it a different experience to you reading the books now, after a few years' pause from them?

A few weeks ago I'd probably say my favorite was either TAA or TVV but now that I'm on TSS I'm reconsidering. There are a lot of elements in it that makes for a very intriguing book. I'm excited to see if the next few manage to replace that as my tentative favorite, which I'm sure they will!
It definitely is a different experience. I'm catching a lot of references and jokes that went wayyy over my head as a kid, and I'm actually a lot more distressed about the situations the kids are in than I was when they were about my age or older. I also get the opportunity to think more in-depth about the books in general, which is nice.
