Taking all unfortunate events aside, I suppose this is a very fine day to join a forum - long overdue, by the way, I've been silently spying reading here for quite some time - and, of course, introduce oneself. Lemonmeringue is my name, a word which here means "not my name at all, which you would probably have guessed, as no one but a Snicket would call their child after a sour, yellow fruit or anything made from it." My actual name is Chiara, if you care to know. I am short, with grey eyes, and live in a foreign country, unless you live in the same country as me.
I consider myself quite well-read, although not as well-read as I would like to be able to consider myself. I can't whistle with crackers in my mouth (or even without, I am sorry to admit) but I don't mind reading poetry at all, and I am a surprisingly good cook.
Feel free to ask questions, may they be right or wrong, and I might even feel free to answer.
Toodle-pip.

Hi Chiara, and welcome to 667. I think your introduction is one of the best I've read in a long time. Are you a fan of the Netflix series - and if so, are you looking forwards to the release of the second season on Friday?

Hello, both of you! And thanks a lot, gliquey. I am very much a fan of the Netflix series, which I think is a great adaptation, and I am very much looking forward to next Friday.
Bear, if you mean "what is your favourite ASOUE book?" my answer would be "I am not entirely sure, but I have a soft spot for The Slippery Slope," but if you mean, "what is your favourite book in general" I dare say, "it's The Magician's Magician, which is pretty far-off from this forum's content." My favourite poet? I don't know. Poe, Whitman, Eliot... all are high up. I love Wilde very much, but I prefer his fairy tales and plays over his poems.

Hi Chiara! It's nice to have you here. Going by your descriptions, I share your country of residence, favourite ASOUE volume and favourite Oscar Wilde play. How did you like the first season of the Netflix show (if you've watched it), and what are your thoughts on All The Wrong Questions (if you've read them)?
Welcome to 667, hope you'll like it here!

Hello, Comet! Wether or not we share a country of residence depends very much on where you and I live. I very much enjoyed the first season of the Netflix show, and I very much have to read ATWQ. I should have (and wanted to) done that long ago, but, alas, I simply didn't get to, yet.

Welcome! I think you’ll find most people here are welcoming and encouraging, a phrase which here means “are happy to have you and your unique interests here, and don’t consider themselves the grand gatekeepers of all enjoyment of literature.” what's unique, she reads the same shi as you

Now, that is an interesting development. Have people just begun arguing over me? How flattering.
Bear, in my Native language, we have the term "bookworm" too, and we have another term that translates into "reading rat". That is, because a worm slowly and carefully eats itself through one thing, while a rat eats as much as it can at a time. As a child, I very much preferred the term "reading rat" for myself, because of how cute rats are, but growing up, I realised that I am much more of a bookworm. I am not Klaus Baudelaire, who has read everything. I am not the Rory Gilmore type of person, who reads every well-known book in order to say that they've liked it, and to repeat the general opinion of it. I read what I like, what I care about, what interests me, and what I get to read, and I tend to be invest myself very much in books, long after reading, and I am very much excited about the books I have yet to read. I am sorry, if I can't keep up with your high standards, but I am afraid you will have to get over it. I can tell you names - but I don't see a point in it. Would you then tell me if it countrs as reading, or not?
