I saw the episode yesterday. A lot of details throughout the show has felt like deliberate nods to the fandom, but nothing so strongly as this. It's a touching gesture, not just to place her name in the show, but to fit it into such an appropriate scene.
Linda never had a bad word to say about anyone - she's got to be one of the kindest and most thoughtful people I've ever known. It says a lot that ten years on I still have vivid memories of her. I'm sad I didn't get to see who she became in the intervening time, but from what I can see of her posts, her facebook and her friends it very much sounds like she grew up to be someone incredibly special and wonderful that I would have liked to have known better.
I've been super busy these last few days so I couldn't post about it.
It's been a year since Linda passed away. I just wanted everyone to know in case you didn't remember, I think it's a good moment for us to think about her, her mark on this community and (those of us who got to know her more) ourselves.
Also, Avi Lake posted a very sweet and thoughtful thing on Instagram:
