So the accidental misuse of library science was on the woman's part? Did the murderer start the fire? Does the murder weapon still exist in the form it occupied when it killed the victim?

Was she trying to stop an arsonist when she was murdered? Was there a library close to the crime scene? Had the dead woman recently left a library? Did the killer work in a library? Did the victim work in a library? Did the victim get a secret code wrong? Was the victim hooked by the killer?

Does the murder weapon still exist in the form it occupied when it killed the victim? 1) Yes, it was. 2) No, they did not. 3) Not anymore, and it was already gone by the time the forrest burned down.

1) Her death came as a complete surprise to her as she thought she was amongst friends. 2) There was a library close to the crime scene, but it was not where she made a mistake. Her mistake took place in a special kind of archive. 3) No she had not. 4) Yes, they did. 5) She had never worked in a library but did need to make frequent use of an archive a few years back. 6) More like her actions unintentionally caused someone else to get a code wrong. 7) No, she was not.

1- Was there more than one killer? 2 - Did the killer (s) believe that the woman was an enemy when in fact she was not? 3 - Was the dead woman on a VFD mission? 4 - Was the dead woman infiltrated in an evil group? 5 - Were the killers members of VFD? 6 - Did the killers cause the fire? 7 - Was the murder weapon removed by gravity? 8 - Was the murder weapon removed by magnetism? 9- Was the murder weapon taken by means of a wire? 10 - Was the woman hit by something that was thrown towards her?

7 - Was the murder weapon removed by gravity? 8 - Was the murder weapon removed by magnetism? 9- Was the murder weapon taken by means of a wire? 10 - Was the woman hit by something that was thrown towards her? As an impossible crime fan, I'm enjoying this line of questioning. For completeness's sake, rather than because I think it's particularly plausible (though in the Snicket universe...): 11. Was the murder weapon made of ice or any other frozen substance? 12. Was the murder weapon made of a soluble substance? 13. Was the murder weapon edible?

The ice theory was correct?! I will never regret submitting joke questions again.
Per that detail and Jean Lucio's 10, then: The corpse did have a stab wound, though? So it's the case that the corpse did not show any marks of burning? This being the case, was the corpse literally encased in ice, protecting it from the fire? Or otherwise so dampened from melting ice that the fire was unable to take hold?

1 - The cause of death hemorrhage?
2 - Was the cause of death short of breath? 3- Is the cause of death related to something that the victim put in her mouth? 4 - Is the cause of death related to something she inhaled? 5 - Was the cause of death her body pierced by ice?

She was stabbed in the heart by a mysterious object made out of ice.

Was the ice weapon something designed to be a weapon? Was it used to stab the victim directly (as in, as opposed to being fired from a distance)? Was it originally an icicle? Did this occur in a naturally cold area?
We're getting somewhere in this particular aspect of the case, so it's reasonable to focus it down. Need to review the evidence a bit more before returning to the library science aspect.
