Friends, today marks the end of an era as Songbird has confirmed that she will be leaving her position as moderator. She retires after nearly fifteen years of service, which I believe makes her the second longest-serving moderator in 667 history. Long time members will fondly remember Songbird's stellar organization of Summer Book Clubs, Member of the Month Awards, and Ghastly Games rules strictly enforced. Newer members will recall the enthusiasm, kindness, and care expressed in all her recent posts. Although this is not the end of Songbird's time with 667 (we hope), it is far past time to express our sincere appreciation for years of contributions. Especially since, as became clear in You Look Lost 's analysis this year, Songbird is to the 667 Awards what Leonardo DiCaprio was to the Oscars. Let's give her the grand exit of staffship that she deserves.

Many thanks must be paid to Songbird for her years of contributions to 667. I know I've enjoyed my time in the Summer Book Club before now, and Member of the Month has been a most venerable institution over the years it ran; and her careful stewardship of Ghastly Games let it flourish and even prepared the groundwork for a modern renaissance. Bravo.

Farewell Songbird. Your decade and a half tenure has set a standard by which all future 667 members will be measured, your work in the Ghastly Games section was what initially drew me to this website in the first place. So many years and accounts ago.
I wish you the best of luck in all your future endeavours and hope you can still find the time to hang out here.

Thanks everyone. This is a very bittersweet moment, and no I won't be leaving forever. As with plants, animals, or a fine block of cheese, as we age we only get better or more tasty. Also as with plants, animals, or fine blocks of cheese, sometimes life just takes you in many directions. Most of those directions, sadly, leaves me without enough time to devote to being a moderator.
667 was where I spent the best and worst years of my life, as anyone that was ever in high school can attest to. Being a moderator was one of the few things that gave me purpose, when so much of my time was spent trying to figure out who I was a human. I hope this site continues to be a place that fosters the friendships that helped me get through those tough times, and serves as an outlet or safe haven from the endless scrolling of the rest of the Internet.
Thanks for the memories, it's been real. Songbird

Thank you so much for all the work you have put in! I hope to see you around the forum. Ghastly Games is definitely my most used board, so thank you for your dedication and caring so much about fellow volunteers.
