Given that Paterson is present here, there's a case to be made for withholding information from police or obstruction of the course of justice. But we'll set that aside for the time being. Tell us everything you know about the Mallahan case; and then, if it's still visiting hours, perhaps we'll try and see Miss Mallahan in the hospital.

Paterson - I am on leave, Mr Dante, and outside my jurisdiction. As a police officer, local detectives may even decide to collaborate with me and all of us, but this will be done unofficially. Murple - I just need evidence or witnesses or even a logical and consistent theory to explain to the jury if he gets indicted. We are lucky that we are not in a certain city that loves crows ... Munin - Kuáh!!! Christmas Chief - He asked you to respect his hometown.

Murple - I'll get to the point. About three days ago, Moxie and her father were getting ready for bed after a long day at work. The newspaper currently has several employees, and they receive visits. So anyone could have poisoned Moxie. The problem is that to get the newspaper back up and running, Mr. Mallahan incurred a relatively large debt. He delayed some debt payments, but never failed to pay employees and refused to fire any of them. I believe it was Moxie's willpower that motivated him. But interest on the debt was absurdly high. The police theory is that Mr. Mallahan decided to end his own life and his daughter's life, because of the debt. When morning came and the employees arrived, they were surprised that neither the chief editor, Moxie, nor the newspaper's owner, Mr Mallahan, had woken up. Corinto, the manager ,opened the lighthouse doors with his keys and decided to go to the chiefs' rooms to see if everything was okay. It wasn't all right. Mr. Mallahan was visibly drugged, and Moxie couldn't wake up at all. An ambulance was called, and as soon as Mr. Mallahan recovered, he was arrested. He says he has no idea what may have happened. If you want to interrogate him I will allow it now. But only if I'm together. If you wish you can go to the hospital, as I heard you talking, while I will advise my client.

Yes, thank you, Paterson, for letting it slip that you have no authority here. What would we do without you. Why don't you go and see if you can squeeze any evidence out of the local police force as to the grounds for Mr. Mallahan's arrest, if they've discovered the poison or its vector, and so on; there's a good chap.
For the rest of us, I propose we divide our forces, with some of us moving to the hospital to interview Moxie Mallahan post-haste, while the others remain here and interview Mr. Mallahan (yes, in Murple's company). Then we'll meet up at some local dining establishment to compare evidence, particularly on the night before the drugging, the characters employed by the newspaper, and any other suspicious individuals or incidents concerned. Anyone have a preference for which line of investigation they would like to pursue?

After a long silence, Paterson said: "Apparently Dante, you are going to lead the interrogation and your pupil will need to go to the hospital." Detective Lester - Here's the report you asked for, Mr. Paterson. The group got together to read together. A large dose of sleeping pills was found in Mr. Mallahan's blood. Sherry Ann - Laudanum? Paterson - No, It was Benzodiazepine. In Roxy's blood, there are traces of Gila Monster's poison.

Dante was taken to an interrogation room. Mr. Mallahan was handcuffed, and visibly dejected. Murple was sitting next to him.
Murple - No recordings, please. You can share the information with your VFD friends if you want. But I don't want to cause an even worse scandal when everything is cleared up.

Interesting. Two separate poisons were employed in the Mallahan case; it would have required a sophisticated plan to target both.
Alright, Mallahan; here are my questions.
1. In your own words, what happened last night? 2. Do you have any theories as to how you and your daughter were poisoned? 3. Who would benefit from your and your daughter's deaths? 4. Who is the woman in this photograph?

Murple - Of course you would like to know who the girl in the photo is, what reason would you have to help him? Don't say anything about her, cousin!
Mallahan - I don't think that's a really good idea, Alex ... Knowing that she died was a shock to me ...
Murple - Cousin, follow the instructions we agreed, please.
Mallahan - I can only confirm that I do know the girl in the photo. But if you help me, I'll give you more information and help with whatever I can. With respect to what happened three days ago ...
Moxie and I ended the job at the newsroom, and decided to watch a horror movie with werewolves ...
Murple - I can confirm that the film was actually broadcast on channel 11. I watched the movie myself too ... The beginning was good, but I could see that the werewolf actor changed during the recording, and the ending was very confusing. But the scenes in the rain were spectacular. I hope you have a continuation to explain what happened.
Mallahan - Moving on ... Moxie drank unsweetened coffee and ate popcorn while watching the movie. I don't drink coffee, so I think the poison Moxie drank was in the coffee powder. I drank sugared boldo tea. I believe there was something about the sugar that doped me. Because the sleep I got was not normal. I fell asleep almost instantly, and I didn't see what happened to Moxie. I only remember it being woken up the next day by Corinto, the newspaper's manager. The police say I am the prime suspect in trying to commit suicide and kill my daughter the same day. They think that because of the debt ... And the fact that we may need to hand the Lighthouse over to the bank in order to pay our debt.
Murple - This is not the only theory of the police. In fact, Miss Mallahan has life insurance in her father's name. If she were murdered by someone other than him, he would have the money and could pay the debts.
Mallahan - I didn't know what they were thinking like that ...
Murple - I have contacts with people who know the prosecutor. They will set up a financially motivated homicide case. Attempted murder, for now. But if Moxie dies, cousin, they'll ask for the electric chair for you...
Mallahan - Oh my God ... If Moxie dies ... (he started to cry) I wouldn't want to continue living at all!
Murple - Do you understand our problem, Mr. Dante? The fact that he was doped with some sleeping pills gives the impression that he did it on purpose, just to look like he was poisoned too.... Then, answering your question, who could benefit from Moxie's death is her own father... We know that someone poisoned their food. And I need some evidence that can save my cousin's life.

I see; a diabolical plot indeed. I ask Mr. Mallahan what would be the immediate consequence of his own hypothetical execution, and in particular what would happen to The Stain'd Lighthouse in this event. Further, I ask for Corinto's contact details so that I can set up an interview with him. Lastly, I jot down in my notebook that there are life insurance policies active in the Mallahan family and that Mr. Mallahan's cousin appears keen to give himself an alibi.
Otherwise, I await further details from the hospital contingent.

Murple - I am not his closest relative, Mr. Dante, if that's what you're implying. Former Mrs. Mallahan no longer has inheritance rights. They married clauses in a prenuptial agreement that guaranteed total separation of assets. But she is very well financially ... I never liked her and I hope my cousin will be grateful to me for my legal advice at the time of his wedding. Mr. Mallahan also has no more living brothers. Mr. Mallahan's father is still alive, so the inheritance will go to my uncle. (Well, he's not really my uncle, just the husband of my late aunt). And in the case of my uncle's death, I'm sorry to talk about it but due to his age this is just a matter of time, the inheritance will be divided between other for his two brothers, that is, Mr. Mallahan's two uncles. But I want you to understand, Mr. Dante, that we are talking about it here is irrelevant. Mr. Mallahan does not currently have many assets. I mean, the The lighthouse was Mortgaged.. The inheritance will merge only the newspaper's machinery, which is not worth much.
Mallahan - Yes this is true. The Lighthouse will belong to Mulctuary Money Management.
Murple - Of course if he inherited the life insurance money ...
Mr. Mallahan - After I paid the debt there would be almost nothing left of that money ... This insurance was my wife's idea when we were together. She said that the life of a journalist is very risky ... And life insurance has become part of company policy. Moxie did not want to upset her mother, even after the divorce.

While Dante was on his way to the Corinthian house, according to the information provided by Mr. Mallahan, Muninn Munnin (this is the crow's full name) arrived at Roxy222 with a letter for her. The letter contained the information collected at the interrogation and a request: "Please look for more information regarding Benzodiazepine and Gila Monster's poison". Roxy222 went to the reception at Colophon Hospital. This was a much bigger building than the Colophon Clinic that was just a few blocks away. R. had been confused and went to the clinic before, to be informed at the reception that this was a very common mistake. Receptionist Anna - Good Morning. How can I help you?

Note from the master: I want to remember that anyone can enter history whenever they want. It just wouldn't be good for Dante to enter this scene, because evidently he's going somewhere else. But any other character may be following Roxy222.
Dante , if you want to interfere in any way, consider that you are sending messages through the crow.
