This is another game where the mechanics are questions and answers.
One of the players will have the role of "Unprepared Interviewee".
There is a pronouncement that he made. But it has become, for some reason, a rumor that reporters and journalists want to know about.
The other players will be interviewers who have been given the right to ask questions. He must be questioned by interviewers regarding this pronouncement.
But the important detail is this: the player who plays the role of Unprepared Interviewee does not receive information about who he is or what the pronouncement is. In other words, the player needs to answer the questions using his ability to improvise.
The objective of this player is to be able to find out which character he represents and what is the pronouncement he made about which he is being interviewed.
This player must do this as soon as possible, using the questions that are made to him as a source of information about who he is and what was the pronouncement made.
Of course not all the answers provided by the interviewee will match with who in fact he is or with the pronouncement he did. The fact that he give answers that match or not, does not respond to win or lose points. However this is important for the interviewers.
As I said, the interviewee's goal is to deduce who he is and what was the announcement using the least quantity of questions as possible. So every question asked the interviewee makes him earn 1 negative point. But if he is properly guessing who is and what was the announcement made, he earns 26 positives.
The interviewee is obliged by the rule to give a specific answer and not vague about each of the questions asked to him.
The respondent will not receive clear feedback on whether their responses were considered a match or not. However, interviewers can use any previous answer as a premise for a next question.
Interviewers:
The questions must be formulated in a single coherent sentence, even though the sentence itself may be very long.
The interviewers form two teams. The interviewee does not know which team each interviewer belongs to. The teams are The Daily Punctilio'a reporters (TDP) and The Staind's Lighthouse's Journalist (TSL).
The Daily Punctilio'a reporters -
Each player who belongs to the TDP aim to make the interviewee give answers that don't match the character or don't match the pronouncement. Each answer that does not match, the interviewer who asked the question gains 2 positive point.
Negative points TDP:
Each answer that perfectly matches makes every TDP reporter get a negative point. This is true whether the questioner was a member of his own team or a member of the opposite team.
However, if the interviewee correctly guesses which character he is and what the pronouncement was made, half of the negative points of all TDP reporters are disregarded. Thus, balance is necessary to invest in the personal objective of earning points by making the interviewee give wrong answers, or if it is better to invest in the collective objective of making the interviewee guess correctly.
The Staind's Lighthouse's Journalist -
These journalists aim to make the
interviewed get the answers right, that is, to give answers that match the character and the pronouncement.
Each player on this team who asks a question whose answer is a match, wins 3 positive points.
Negative Points TSL:
However, if the interviewee tries to guess and then misses the character he is or miss the pronouncement, half of the negative points of all TSL journalists are disregarded. Thus, balance is needed to decide whether it is better to invest in the personal objective of making points when making the interviewer get the answers right or in the collective objective that is to make the interviewer guess incorrectly who he is or what the pronouncement was.
The Game Master will choose the interviewees by lottery among the players who score the most points in the previous round, through lottery among them, or if any of the players is a volunteer, or a lottery among the volunteers.
TDP or TSL journalist or reporter roles will also be chosen by lot.
The interviews: Each interviewer will be able to ask a question until this question is answered. The interviewee will have up to 48 hours to answer questions or try to guess. After receiving a list of questions, at any time during the 48 hours, the interviewee will be able to guess who it is and what the pronouncement is. Or he may decide to answer all the questions asked to him so far. (In the latter case, the negative points will be charged). The interviewee must answer all questions asked since the last time he answered a question (or if it is the first round of questions, from the beginning). If the time expires, the master will need to act as an interviewee, and will use data and dice to decide how to respond. I want to avoid this type of situation.
Closing the game: The game ends when the interviewee tries to guess who is and where he is or at the end of 13 days, which happens first.
The pronouncement: Consider that the pronouncement is a type of rumor that arose about that character. It may be the most absurd and unrelated thing about the ASOUE universe, but it can also be something related to the Universe of Asoue. Creating an interesting pronouncement and observing how this develops throughout the game is the only fun that the master will have.
Rule of mercy: The lowest overall score is zero. However, negative points can affect your positive score from other rounds.
Rule of free question by the interviewee: Before the start of the first Round, the interviewee has the right to ask a yes or no question to the game master. This will not cost you any points. However, the question should not be about which newspaper a player works for, nor about the credibility of one or more players.
Rule of two costly questions asked by the interviewee: At any time during the round, the interviewee can ask two more yes or no questions to the game master. However, if the interviewee decides to use this feature, they will receive three negative points per question.
Rule of the third question with cost made by the interviewee: After asking two questions with cost, the interviewee can ask a third question with cost. The third question must also be yes or no. However, if the interviewee decides to use the third question, he will earn 7 negative points. (In other words, by using the three questions at a cost, the respondent will be sacrificing half the positive score he can earn).
Rounding rule: If the negative number of points earned during the game is odd and a participant needs their negative points to be cut in half, rounding will be carried out in order to maximize the total number of points to be reduced. For example, if the negative score is -7, when dividing this value by 2, the result is -3.5. However, there will be an approximation for -4 points to be disregarded from this player.
