Yes, Laura, the *L* usually stands for laugh. Actually, I guess *S* could be for snicker but I think it means smile.

HAHAHAHAHAH!!!! Americans have a big ass accent! However, it all depends on where in the US you are. You can have an American western accent, american southern accent, and so on. Hmph! I HATE[/u] when people say that!~

I met an American from California or something and when I was talking to her she was said I had a huge accent. I can't tell an American accent from a Canadian one though. In case you didn't know I'm Canadian too, eh. What's with the "eh" anyway. Canadians never say "eh"! Or worse we don't say CHESTERFIELD for couch/sofa/whatever you call it!!!!

I can't tell American accents from Candadian ones either. Apparently they can, though. And really, who says chesterfield?? NOT ME! I say "eh" but not like every second word. Here's an example of I how I use "eh" in a sentance: "That was a good movie, eh?" Only for questions! It's not like the work "like" which I use constantly.

[/u] when people say that!~[/quote] It's true!! Anyone in the world can detect an American accent, whether it be Southern, New Yorker, etc. I mean, you can't tell a Brazilian accent from an Argentina accent, or a Chinese accent from a Korean accent. But you CAN tell an American accent from any other one in the world. So there. I've got the East Coast accent... I'm not saying I'm not American
