Yes. Mostly beer, which doesn't have the sting of high-percentage liquor. It works as a (or rather the) social lubricant, is as old as agriculture, and there are many kinds, many of which I like the taste of.
Wine is fine. Only rarely drink high-% stuff; Haven't developed a discerning taste for it. Don't like really sugary cocktails, although a mojito can be nice once in a while.

Nope. I don't particularly like the taste, but more than anything I've never felt the urge or need to. As many have told me in the past, I don't need any social lubrication.
I'm Interested in why you asked this question, as well.

I asked this question because I've been seriously considering outright quitting alcohol. Pre-pandemic I used to like nothing more than a night out and getting very drunk, but now I find it doesn't interest me, doesn't make me feel great and feels like numbing/distracting yourself from actually experiencing life.
I'm not sure. I'll probably continue to now and again, but maybe just for special occasions.

This reminded me of a story I read once about anthropologists who studied drinking culture among the Camba, a group in Bolivia: They also share interesting insights into alcohol myopia. I never knew that that was how it worked.

This was my experience last year ! I stopped drinking alcohol in 2020 and found many of my "friends" weren't interested in hanging out sober. I'm still v young but alcohol tasted better when it was illegal lol. It's definitely a social thing to do, but I find it amusing now at parties to observe the drunk and everyone is chill about me declining a drink. I sometimes drink alcohol, but never with the intention of getting very drunk. I have been slightly drunk a two or three times, but never enough to do things I would regret later or not be able to walk straight or not remember stuff. It makes me a bit sad that for a lot of people there seems to be the two options of not drinking at all or getting really drunk and nothing in between.
Also I hate deciding what I want to drink. I think it's because I didn't really drink at all until about I was about 25. People seem to use their teens and early twenties to try things and then settle for one or two things that they will always have, and I didn't do that so I like to try different things, but everyone just asks what I "normally" have. So when someone is getting drinks for a group of people and asks me what I want, I normally ask them to just bring something random that isn't beer (because that's the one thing I know I don't like), and so far I never ended up getting anything really bad.
