Any illustration with Ellington Feint in it (although I don’t like her face in some drawings), mainly because I am madly in love with her. (Btw, I am almost thirteen so I am allowed to be crushing on her.) Sometimes I have spent ages just looking at pictures of her. *sighs*

I hate to admit it but I stopped reading ATWQ for a long time because of the illustrations. I saw some arts and thought: "this is not ASOUE". I only decided to read ATWQ after the first season of Netflix, and I was surprised at how much I liked it and how an idiot I had been not to read it. I like the illustrations in File Under 13. I feel the ASOUE universe really expanding because of those illustrations, even the simplest ones.

The first full-page illustration in ?1 (the crowded station) sticks with me as the beginning of an era. It also reminds me of the last full-page illustration in TPP.

Don’t mind Reba . He is such a troll that they censored the word i-diot to his name.

While I'd never consider them ugly, I did find the illustrations rather boring compared to Helquist's (at first). They are a bit more The New Yorker-style illo's as opposed to the mysterious Goreyesque flavor of those in ASoUE... But I've grown to appreciate them for what they are and am thankful to have discovered Seth and his own work in comics as a result. And I guess it's good how ATWQ went for its own visual direction to stand on its own.
I've also noticed how ASoUE's illustrations are all in pencil (at least inside) and ATWQ's in brush and ink. I'm having fun imagining each subsequent possible Snicket series being illustrated by an artist in a different medium, like only woodcuts, charcoal, or ink and nib.

Yeah, I would have loved their friendship if only the you-know-what at the end of book 4 hadn’t made me permanently despise Lemony.
