Hi! Here is Jean Lúcio.
It is with great pleasure that I would like to announce that the book I wrote is finally available in English!
The title is "The Litory Intelligences", and it's is an action adventure novel with sci-fi elements.
You can purchase your copy of both the physical book and the ebook on Amazon. (www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B09R4JXH91)
I would really appreciate your help in spreading the word.
Below is the book trailer of the book, with narration in English.
Below is the synopsis:
What if the existence of the world as we know it depends on your intelligence? Young man Matt Liory was confronted with this question when he met Princess Darlle and American spy Jonathan. He becomes involved in a plot that included governments, big tech companies, modified creatures, and Servelege - a presumably terrorist group that uses forbidden technology to fulfill the plans of a mysterious entity called the Echellon. Because of this he is hunted and will need to use his wits to try to save himself, those he loves, and perhaps the entire planet.
My name is Jean Lúcio, and unfortunately I need to inform you that if you decide to read this book, you may have access to confidential and dangerous information. Well, you may not even realize the notorious secrets contained here.
Maybe it's better this way.
(But if you understand the information I'm referring to, maybe you are among the 5% of people who can help me. In that case, please contact me.)
Welcome to Multiple Intelligences.
I feel it's a shame that Hermes isn't here to see this happen. He was one of my supporters. He and Dante had the opportunity to read the initial drafts as I posted from time to time what I had written here on the forum. He said the following:
Though in many ways it reflects the spirit of Snicket, it is a work of original fiction, possibly the most substantial such work ever published at 667, and we look forward to seeing it commercially published in future (just as ASOUE was at first printed privately and distributed through VFD libraries before – but I digress). I fear, though, that 667ers have been too busy of late to read this work.
I really felt flattered by those words. In fact, it was these words of his that made me want to publish the book in English... in fact, even some English word choices were made with Hermes and Dante in mind... Of course, following Dante's advice, I translated everything into Portuguese and published this first in my native language. But then I arranged a paid translation into English. (Please let me know if I got a good deal as there is always room for revisions).
Officially the book is dedicated to Zortegus, as you will see, but there is an internal reason for this. But I want you to view the book as dedicated to all 667ers. I'd like to take the opportunity to talk about Dante 's support one more time. He's really been with me every step of the way in writing this book, and I really, really, really want a copy of The Litory Intelligences to somehow end up in his house somehow. I don't know if any of you mysteriously manage to keep in touch with Dante somehow. But if that's possible, I ask you to make it happen.
I want to quote some words from Dante that really moved me. Especially when I remember how much he didn't praise people by nature. He wrote:
Dante even gave me tips regarding world building, which I was able to incorporate into the final version of the story. I would really like to know his opinion on this particular aspect of the work. If by any chance Dante you still appear around in stealth mode, please contact me day or night, preferably daytime. I promise I won't tell anyone you did this.
And of course... I would like to know the opinion of all of you. If there are people who like to make theories out of fictional stories (I'm looking at you TheAsh ) it would be a great pleasure to read theories about that story. It's a pity that I can't write theories about this story myself, because it would be fascinating. Without further ado, welcome to Multiple Intelligences!
