So, what are peoples thoughts on the scandal currently gripping downing street. I mean, I doubt that anyone is in support of the numerous lockdown-busting parties, and that's not really my question. Its more....do you think this is the end of bojo? Or will he wriggle out of it somehow.

I feel like I shouldn't say too much about this, as I'm not British and am not on top of this story as I probably should be...
It surprises me though, coming from this as an American, that this is the kind of scandal that might bring down Johnson's ministership. I feel like if the American president did something like this (and let's be totally honest, maybe one of them HAS) it would barely be a blip in the news cycle. I don't think Johnson will have to resign, but he's definitely being voted out and quickly come the next election.

As i'm not an american I may not be able to judge as acutely, but I think that the scale of the parties and the continual denial of their existence would make it hard to only register as a blip. Even in America. I think that if Johnson doesn't reign (he won't) and he is not ousted out in some other way, the fact that we are still basically two years away from the next election means that I could easily see him winning again, i'm afraid.

I can certainly see where you're coming from, knowing that now. But Johnson's being decried by everyone, including his own party— never mind. You are the expert here

I would *love* it to be the end for him, and it certainly should be, but I'm doubtful it actually will be. He certainly won't leave out of any sense of decency, seeing as he has none, so he'd have to be forced out. Maybe the Met investigation will lead to that (I certainly hope so), but the Met itself is rotten to the core and appears to be very much in his pocket, so I'm trying not to get my hopes up.

Given that Cressida Dick has literally the same disgusting history as Philip Osbourne from Line of Duty, I wouldn't be surprised.

I was reading just today about various murders (yes, murders) & incidents of police malpractice she's been involved in covering up, it's horrific.

For real, how tf did anyone get any work done at Downing Street, seems like it was just non-stop parties the entire lockdown

I think they got a bit confused by the different meanings of the word party.
