*walks around the diner taking orders*

I’ll take Ellington. (OOC: if this isn’t set at any particular time period, how am I supposed to know which canon events to draw on? Never mind, I’ll place the time between ?2 and ?3.)


“It’s been very lonely. I’m glad you invited me here. It seems like every moment I spend not looking for my father is wasted time, but it’s better to waste time with friends.”

[R.]

“I’m not sure” *peers at menu* “I’m not sure what a lot of this food is. Jake certainly comes up with a lot of incredibly creative recipes” *smiles admiringly* “I’ll probably have whatever you’re having.”

[R.]

“No, I haven’t had time to read. And besides, the library is next to the police station so I’m too scared to go in there.”

[R.]

“Speaking of him, I discovered a package addressed to him at Black Cat Coffee. The Inhumane Society sends their packages there, and I’m afraid he might be involved in something far more sinister than just being a bully.”

[R.]

*also looks around, nervously*
“Sorry. We’ll find somewhere private later on. Let’s forget about him for a while and just enjoy this moment together.”
*places hand on his*

“Where should we go? To Black Cat Coffee?”

[R.]

“Good idea. I hope he’s alright. It’s not like him at all to just disappear.”

[R.]

*hides because I’m technically an escaped prisoner*

"What do you kids want?"

*checks under the table where Ellington is hiding*

"I can see you hiding down there, you know"

[R.]

*Calmly gets up and hopes she doesn’t recognise me*

[Cupid]

"This is a diner, miss Ellington Feint, and we serve everyone who's hungry"

*pours some coffee*

"I haven't seen Jake today, but he owes me money so you better pay his debts before you leave"

*suddenly realises she knew my name*

“Do you think she’s going to call the police?”

[Cupid]

*comes back with their order, but stops before leaving it*

"You didn't drink your coffee. That's not very nice of you two, youngsters"

[Cupid]

"I think you're not understanding, kiddo"

*putting the coffee mug down in front of Lemony and looking him dead in the eye*

"You have to drink this coffee. Now."
