I'm pretty sure I read somewhere that Handler had basically nothing to do with The Nameless Novel and that the publishers didn't really keep in touch with him about what they were doing, but I'd be very lucky to dig that interview quote up now. It might be best to get it affirmed.

HermesHey! What's up!? I think we should ask him a simple "How are you today? I hope your day is going well". He might appreciate that. Which part of Scotland are you in again?

I'm from a small town called Crieff in Perthshire I can give Handler my house address if he wants to come for tea/coffee! How come?

Just wondering, because I always remember you as 'the other Scottish 667er.' I'm in Aberdeen right now, but am moving to Edinburgh soon.

(I don't think anyone's asked this in this thread - or indeed, that we've ever got an answer from Snicket or Handler, but please correct me if I'm wrong.)
Were the 13 A Series of Unfortunate Events novels written by Lemony as the events were happening, or years after? If they were written years after, why was Lemony writing a message to Kit (who was dead by then) about meeting her in the Hotel Denouement (which was burned down by then) in The Slippery Slope?

Two questions: 1. Did Olaf become a villain/betray VFD, before or after the death of his parents? 2. Will you please pass on my best wishes to Daniel Handler and his family?

1. Adverbs includes a story which links it with The Basic Eight, and some of us have seen an allusion to TB8 in We Are Pirates as well. Are all Daniel Handler's adult works set in the same world? 2. Why We Broke Up was advertised as your first Young Adult book, and yet I've quite often seen the Lemony Snicket books described as Young Adult as well. How do you see your books as dividing up into age-bands, and what do you think of the way books are typically divided?

1. Your books are known for being full of allusions, references and hidden connections. To the best of your knowledge, have any such details gone yet unnoticed? If so, are there any clues you can give as to the nature and location of those?
2. Can you tell us about any ideas for books you've had to scrap?
I had another question, but I forgot what it was. I might come back later.

I've got one more:
What role has secondary literature (i.e. literary criticism) played in your development as a reader and enthusiast of prose and poetry?

1. How do you feel about the fans who genuinely think the Kit and Olaf pairing is romantic and actually want Olaf to be the dad of Kit's baby despite his very creepy and pedophilic nature towards Violet (not to mention everything else awful about him)? (Blame Tumblr for this question.)
2. Why did Kit and Olaf break up and how old were they? Is it the obvious or was it something else?
3. How do you get someone to stop eating spaghetti every day?

Just couple questions about the writing process for the new Netflix. Sorry if they have been asked before.
How was it writing the Netflix series, were you able to include story elements in the Baudelaire story that you weren't able to include in the books?
Also did it feel weird to return to the Baudelaire after all this time and how did you see their lives differently?
