So... the background photo of the forums has been moved or deleted from photobucket.

Yes, it needs to be replaced quite urgently - although I think backgrounds can still be changed to a simple colour, so we could just have a black background as a placeholder until we can get a new pinstripe background. I don't know if Hermedy still has the original image, but I don't think it should be too difficult to replace. Edit: I think it was something like the following: i39.tinypic.com/l8j1i.pngOnly, you know, repeated thousands of times below and to the side of itself. Just needs shifting to a stable URL and then setting as the forum's background image. Might need widening or narrowing, I guess. I just cobbled this together in a few seconds.

Your link isn't working for me. But I'm sure it would be fine. I'm sure it would be easy to find a good image to replace the old one. Maybe one even better.

The link is probably working, but the image is super duper tiny. That's why he said it would have to be repeated lots of times.

That's why it's called tiny pic!
But, seriously, we need to do something about this, through by the sounds of Dante's post Hermedy is the only one with the power to do that.

That's actually how the background images on forums work, as you can tell from the present Photobucket placeholder image. The image is replicated horizontally and vertically as many times as is required to fill the screen. That's why, for a background that's identical vertically, it only needs to be one pixel high. You only need to plug in the URL once, though. I've tested this on a test ProBoard I keep and it works; I'm just not sure if it's identical to what we used to have.

What do you have against him Willis? (I'll completely respect your opinion.)

Well, the image was a basic pinstripe pattern - fairly simple to imitate, if the posted link isn't all the way accurate. It's certainly strange, after growing accustomed to the former background, but there's not much we can do except wait for it to be restored.

Too stripey?

A bit. Unless this is all you can find. If that's the case then this works.

Thanks, Hermedy.
Maybe we could try spacing them a bit more apart?

I actually like it. I think the only change needed is toning down the white a little, in my opinion. It seems that the old backgroung had light-gray stripes and these are very white. It hurts the eye a little, when next to the black.

It hurts the eye a little, when next to the black. Ah, that might be it, too. You can't tell so much toward the bottom of the page, but I think it's the top, around the Dark Avenue banner, that's really striking.

Yes, because that's where we've gotten so used to seeing the other background. If nothing else, a simple black background would look just fine.
