What are some of your favorite go-to dishes to cook? What are some of your more successful cooking experiences? What are some disastrous ones?
I was never much into cooking, am mostly practical about nutrition, mostly disregarding fancier stuff. But I'm always happy when I nail a dish, and since the pandemic I've been trying some veggie and legume combinations to spice things up, and one or two new recipes. My base for dinner, 3-4 out of 7 days a week is turkey breast/strips and Basmati rice; Then I vary whatever I add (f.ex. zucchini, or paprika, or lentils). I also do pretty good roast potatoes (though not something I do often) and fried potatoes.

I watched a video of Gordon Ramsey giving random cooking tips before making this thread Eggs can be tricky, especially sunny-side up fried egg. It's not quite as easy as Snicket makes it out to be in PfB. Why do you not like eating, that sounds very unhealthy

I should've phrased it better; I don't like eating meals. It takes too long, I'd much rather eat in private, I don't like sitting at the table, and I'm always given too much. I prefer having small snacks throughout the day. i was a lot like that when i was a callous teenager. but now, i am a creaky migraineur with a job, so i'm forced to eat full meals at fixed times in the day. but enjoy your self-neglect while it lasts, mr. semblance.

I love to cook- I don't do it as often as I should or want to though. The last thing I cooked was a dish with gnocchi, goat's cheese, mushrooms, onions, garlic, and parsley. I don't really make fancy things, quite often I'll just plan a meal based around something in my cupboard I've got to use up before it goes out of date. I tend to always cook 2-4 portions so I can have the same meal a few days in a row. In the height of the pandemic I even ran a cooking insta, www.instagram.com/miriam.likes.to.cook/

I don't cook very much, but I love to bake(especially Christmas cookies). The last thing I cooked was a pizza.

Made it this evening and it was actually relatively quick, only required 25 mins in the oven and around 10 mins to mix all the stuff together

Since you've been making casseroles, have you ever made or tried tuna casserole?

No. Tuna also reminds me of cat food and I can't stand it tbh.

I would like to cook more complicated stuff, or just more different things, but I don't really have the motivation because I actually prefer simpler food. Also I'm very bad at deciding, so we normally have the same or similar foods on the same day every week, otherwise it would take me all day to decide what to cook. My favourite is Wednesday, which is spaghetti day. My favourite sauce to have with the spaghetti is with tomato, tuna and olives.
Sometimes when we have more time, normally at weekends, Mister M cooks chicken with tomato and garlic, and I make Spätzle, which is some kind of German noodles.
About a year and a half ago I made a salmon and spinach quiche, which was surprisingly good, so I don't know why I haven't made it again.
When I cook just for myself I like just throwing random vegetables and spices in a pot and seeing what happens.

It turned out pretty good. I may have burnt it slightly but it was still edible.
