Haha... the Baudelaires parents were part of the VFD making it possible for them to be disguised as Count Olaf and Esme. If you think about, Count Olaf hasn't been that evil.. he's allowed them to escape every time.
You probably think i'm crazy... but maybe there's a crazed killer lurking around.. ie. lemony and they're trying to protect the Baudelaire children from lemony.
