formerly banned in the us of a, and presently delicious worldwide
to the US 667ers, have you ever tried blackcurrant? to the UKers, do you like ribena? to the lovely south americans and europeans, do you see the fruit (or its products) often?

same same, just a different brand of cordial. (when i was a kid we'd buy the syrup/sirop because it was more economical than the premade), nothing quite like the taste

That’s very true, you yankees should improve your taste in beverages.

I used to drink Ribena when I was little, and when we went on family camping holidays to France/Italy/Spain we always ended up getting cordials, though I think we used to mostly get flavours other than blackcurrant then because that was like the standard sort of boring flavour.

Can't possibly be worst than the cigarettes you can get at any convenience store... a packet of cigarettes here are fifty dollars because it's heavily taxed to dissuade buyers btw you guys'd cry

I haven't eaten Starburst in years because they contain palm oil but blackcurrant is a regular flavour. I never liked it as much as the citrus flavours though.

so weird that they used to be banned. we used to have a redcurrant bush in our garden, but i don't think I've ever tried the syrup. i never liked syrups in general, tho; theyre always to sweet, even when diluted.

My parents grow lots of redcurrants! I love them, they're sooo good with cream. We also once found a wild redcurrant bush growing on the edge of a field, which was brilliant; there's nothing quite as satisfying as finding fruit growing in the wild.

honestly didn’t know what blackcurrant was until looking it up just now and it appears to be what we call groselha here in brazil - we have it at the beach with shaved ice and sometimes with sweetened condensed milk. i used to love it as a child

blackcurrant flavoured stuff is okay but I prefer redcurrants. I don't really know how to get them here without growing them yourself, I have only seen them in a shop once When I was a kid one of my favourite things in the summer was frozen redcurrants. Just on their own straight from the freezer.
