Hello, the Annual 667 Summber Book Club (or A6SBC, for short) is returning, now run by me. (Ideally I would have got this post up two weeks ago, but covid curtailed me somewhat).
We will be reading a book over the duration of the summer (or more like August-September), and discussing as we go in this thread.
To Nominate a book for discussion, simply post the title and author below. After a few days I'll put up a poll and we can choose a book.
Some guidelines for nominations: 1. Must be appropriate for all ages 2. It cannot be any of the following books as we have already read them: The Hunger Games, Cloud Atlas, Jonathan Strange and Mr. Norell, The Book Thief, Pizza and Coffee, Why We Broke Up, Railsea, We Are Pirates, The Magicians or Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince, The Hounds of Morrigan 3. Books must be less than 700 pages 4. You can nominate books that have been nominated before.
Nominate away...

Good choice.
I will chuck in my two nominaties 1. Smoke by Dan Vyleta, a really good book, nice gothicy feels to it. 2. Mortal Engines by Philip Reeve, which I remember really enjoying as a kid.

omg not a Hyacinth Society rivalry!?
i nominate The Falcon's Malteser The Falcon's Malteser is a comic mystery by Anthony Horowitz. The first of The Diamond Brothers series, it was first published in 1986. The title is a spoof of The Maltese Falcon, to which there are various allusions throughout the story. The Impossible Fortress
The Impossible Fortress by Jason Rekulak (Goodreads Author) A dazzling debut novel—at once a charming romance and a moving coming-of-age story—about what happens when a fourteen-year old boy pretends to seduce a girl to steal a copy of Playboy but then discovers she is his computer-loving soulmate

Did you ever read Larklight, also by Philip Reeve? It's a fun trilogy, made notable by the illustrations. Much more lighthearted than Mortal Engines, though.

Never heard of this book, but the title alone sounds cool. Going to try to find a copy.
