I think the woman with white faces (at least one of them) are good VFDers in disguise.
I mean one of them keeps smiling at Sunny and sticking up for her.
And DH goes into detail out of the blue about her putting makeup on.
I think it was to get our attention.

Maybe one of Count Olaf's troupe isn't who we think it is.. Like those two woman... Unclue Bruce, Leader of the Snow Scouts was Uncle Monty...

hmmm... has anyone thought of the tattoo of the eye? is that a general vfd thing? and if it is, why an eye? i just randomly remembered that in MM the optometrist's building is the eye right? seems like a hell of a lotta trouble to build a building looking like that just for the bauds...and why would oly wanna do that in the first place? perhaps im way off the mark  ...any thoughts? |

Sally, take a look at the VFD logo that marks most posts here. If you tilt your head to the left a bit, it looks like an eye. So the VFD members may have had the VFD logo tattooed on their ankles and the Baudelaires have only just learned to see it as the letters VFD instead of like an eye.

nono, i understand the whole eye thing...(actually, no i dont, i never managed to picture how the initials fit in the eye... :-[can someone help me? teehee)
but what is the BUILDING of an eye doign in the middle of paltryville?

Oh! Now I see it! I had never understood what everyone meant when they said that they saw the initials V.F.D. in the eye. After looking at the eye for a minute now, I am slightly embarrased I didn't notice the initials sooner.

Yeah except the eyes for bad vfd is just an eye- it doesnt have vfd hidden in it- ex hypnotists office.

Actually, there's a better looking one on page 47 of TSS, on the tent...you can understand it a little better, why it looks like an eye.
