In TSS, Lemony says that the few witnesses to Olaf's car ride up the Mortmain Mountains are either dead or too scared to respond to Lemony. So this mean that ALL of Olaf's henchmen, including Esme, will vanish. Please excuse me if this has already been discussed.

Can't recall that I've seen this before, but I had interpreted it as "witnesses outside the car" rather than "anyone other than Count Olaf".

Can't recall that I've seen this before, but I had interpreted it as "witnesses outside the car" rather than "anyone other than Count Olaf". I also interpreted it that way. There was apparently no one outside the car, unless Lemony had spies there, or the eagles were carrying hidden cameras. It's very confusing to try and find out how Lemony gets his information.

Yes it is. Lemony certainly seems to be all knowing and yet he says he does research and interviews, I figure he must've interviewed the baudelaires sometime to get all that specific info of their trials...

That's got to be depressing.Being asked Review all of your trials and tribulations so I can put them into a children's series that will start forums and cause a large amount of hilarious laughter. Lemony has no conscience.

Well, don't forget that the person interviewing and following the Baudelaires is the character Lemony, who has to reveal the truth to the world. As opposed to the author Lemony, who is Daniel Handler. That's how I see it.

Uh huh. You realise that makes no sense. So DH is pretending to be Lemony so the real Lemony can tell him the depressing tale of the Baudelaires. Complicated and strange.

Um, actually, DH created the character Lemony, who is the one following the Baudelaires and telling their story and his. The character Lemony only exists within the world of the stories, but the author Lemony is simply Daniel Handler's pseudonym/alternate personality. This is seriously confusing.

Actually it's not that confusing. A real guy named Daniel Handler came up with a pseudonym because he wanted something from a company but didn't want to get their catalogs. Then, he decided to use the pseudonym to write a childrens' book series. Then he made the pseudonym author into a character in the series, who probably interviewed the main characters to get all the information(according to asoue world)

Well of course it's cool. Handler's cool. His writing and allusions are cool. Tis why we read asoue.
