I too hope that the freaks will die. I particularly want Kevin's gruesome death to take place. Ideally it should involve the swift and painful removal of one of his hands because that would make sense. But if the current pattern holds true, goodbye Hooky. Hopefully, he will tell us how he lost his hands before his death.

Hopefully, he will tell us how he lost his hands before his death. He needs to have a nice long monologue or something before he dies. He's probably everyone's favorite henchman (I'm not sure, because we haven't had one of those polls in a while). He gets the most screen time/page time out of anyone in the troupe anyway. And I think we all want to know how he lost his hands.

Of course everyone loves him, he has frickin hooks fr hands! I love Hooky because he is just so damn mean and that is cool!
But anyways, I dont think we will ever find out his story, or not through a monologue or anything. Lemony might signal it through an installment like LSUA. Anyway, like I said, maybe the person who dies is a character new to the series. Like, a Quagmire parent (highly doubtful) or something. Maybe a new VFD youngster? Maybe an older member of VFD? Who knows. We arent supposed to yet. I want to point out soemthing to you guys. When reading the clue thing Lemony left us for TGG, dont you remember what he said? He said that the kids sleep in a broken down submarine. Think about it. I dont think much working submarine action will be in this one. Just the broken one the kids have to house themselves in, thats all.
One thing is for sure though:
As Ive read through the series, it just keeps getting better and better (or i9n the case of an orphan, worse and worse). If the pattern proves correct, this should be the best Lemony Snicket yet! Especially since I love it when the ocean is associated with grave peril. ^_^

Well it is likely that the Baudelaires will be living in the submarine after there raft leaves them there. I personally don't think that they will reach Hotel Denounment untill book 12.

Well cool info I'll bet the long lost friend is JS. Justice Strauss? Jerome Sqaulor. Perhaps Jacques Snicket isn't really dead. But then again the Baudelaires think the message in the jam jar was intened for Jacques Snicket and the clue for TGG was Many Invidivals Have The Same Initials Which Can Lead To Much Injustice.
