Feel free to contact them. The person you've been talking to is, apparently, the same person we've been talking to, so I assume you already have the e-mail address.

Don't hold your breath for a reply. I get the impression that customer service type people who handle a lot of e-mail appreciate short, polite e-mails. So that's what I always try to send and have gotten positive results in the past. However, I still haven't heard back from Victoria when I called her out about the contest. I don't expect to either, because then it would mean she would have to admit to their goof.

Well yeah but i try to be polite and the next minute the other person is being a real pain in the butt. So its just a habbit now, especcialy when i contact these type of people who acts all snobby.

No, not yet. I expect that if I don't get a reply on Monday, there won't be one. (I believe I sent my e-mail on Wednesday or Thursday.)
EDIT: Still no reply, so I e-mailed again. Maybe the squeaky wheel will get the grease.

Sorry for the double-post, but I am in UTTER SHOCK!
I got a reply from Victoria at Egmont.
First of all, I can't believe she replied. Secondly, that they would admit their mistake and correct it.
I live in the US, and didn't really want to send a SAE. Would someone in UK care to?

What?!
For the love of the gods, am I going to have to send in another blasted SAE?
And secondly, they actually admitted their mistake and are going to give a proper new prize and stuff? I'm impressed. I really am, if this is accurate.
*sigh* If nobody else volunteers to send in an SAE by the weekend, I'll do it. Again.
Oh, and thanks for your persistence, everyone. I confess that I did not expect it to pay off. It seems my prediction was inaccurate.

I replied with a sob story about not living in GB and asked her to please e-mail me the list. We'll see what happens. I suppose I'm pushing my luck that she'll do it, but it would be faster than any of you sending a SAE.

I was just about to ask you if you could do that. They were willing to give the title over e-mail last time; I imagine it's just the names of the winners that they don't want to give away like candy.

How did they manage to choose a WRONG winner?

They didn't follow their own rules. It's not that the winner was wrong, they way they chose the winner was wrong. They chose someone who guessed the actual title, not submitted a creative, unique (but incorrect) title.
I wonder if it was persistance on my part, and I'm sure others, that made them change their winner. They realized that people found out they were being lazy and not following their own rules and that they better fix it before there was public outcry!

Wow, this is more than was anticipated.
I'll send a SAE if they don't reply to Gigi. Is the address in the thread?

This is the address: Egmont UK Ltd 239 Kensington High Street London W8 6SA You should probably head it "Nameless Novel," though. The specific address they gave on the site did so.
