Was there a supposed hidden message inside TSS? I recently recovered an old advertisement for TSS and I'd like to know if there is or isn't. If so, could anyone give me the directions for it? If there's another, older thread, would someone kindly post its link? If there is not, would someone just lock or delete this please? Thank you muchly.

Ah, I think this should suffice: asoue.proboards11.com/index.cgi?board=future&action=display&thread=1064520363&page=1Basically, it was a foldable piece of paper or card or something, which when folded correctly, revealed a hidden message about TSS's plot. I think it came with TCC, or something. I'll leave this open a while, so that people who perhaps actually got it can explain. Edit: I'm sure there's a better thread, but this was the best I could find at short notice.

There's another possibility here. There was a clue using TSS prior to TGG's release about how confusing it is that some people have the same initials. The clue was generated by a set of questions on lemonysnicket.com that you had to answer by looking up things in TSS.
At least, as I recall that was it.

Aye, there was that. That particular page on LemonySnicket.com no longer appears to be up - at least, I can't find it - but the message was (and I may paraphrase slightly; it has been more than a year): "Many individuals have the same initials, which can lead to much injustice." Curiously, it more applies to TPP than TGG, but then again, early Dear Reader letters for TGG mentioned hypochondria, and that wasn't in it either.

I never got the actual "clue" but I read it at Unofficial FAQ.

The article I found said something about a message hidden inside the story itself.... The headline for it said 'Read between the lines,' so I thought.....

Ah, sorry. I thought you meant the clue that came with TCC to TSS's plot. In fact, you meant the clue to TGG's plot using TSS. That's the one Efogoto mentioned. I didn't know they had adverts for that clue, but maybe it was an early predecessor to TheNamelessNovel.com. *shrug* Anyway, I looked for some old threads about it, but I'll be honest, the ones I found were either on a different topic or were fairly bad.

*Is disappointed* Oh that's OK. I wanted to find out if it was anything signifigant. Curiosity killed the cat, as they say.
