Yeah. I think it won't be important, because they certainly have enough modes of communication to tell everyone it's been canceled.

really? Their telegrams come less frequently, tgg told us that. Villains have cut down telephone poles, there are less VFD submarines and no safe places, how will the people who have not yet arrived learn about it? The people in the sshamh will watch the skies, but they have no other method of communication do they?

There are presumably still some volunteer animals left who might be able to deliver messages, and the plume of smoke will linger for a while. And regardless of who set the fire and what happened to Geraldine Julienne, it'll be reported in The Daily Punctilio, unless they mess it up and say it was the Preludio which burnt down, which I wouldn't put past them. Although if Geraldine is out of the way, and with Eleanora presumably still locked up in the basement, there might be nobody left to run the paper, so no, I guess it might not be reported... But my other points still stand, I think.

Well seeing as Eleanora was locked in the basement around thh (I'm basing this on the fact that her telegram was with thh telegram) I really don't think she's still down there. Add this to the fact that the Punctilio has continued to print and one would think she's found a way out by now. But again, how would these people, if they're already in transit, figure out about it? If they're smart they don't buy the punctilio...

If Eleanora had escaped from the basement, she probably would have fired Geraldine Julienne by now, whereas the Punctilio has clearly continued to print her stories - barring any circumstances where Geraldine convinced Eleanora that it was an accident etc. I assumed that whoever works at the Punctilio would just think that Eleanora didn't have anything to say or had nothing to edit, and wouldn't take her absence as being suspicious - they can't be that clever, after all. I consider it more likely that Geraldine has been continuing to pass stories to the printing press while any other staff assume that Eleanora's already given them the okay.
Edit: And the Punctilio isn't a reliable newspaper, but I think Fiona said something about there being enough information in it to take a good guess at what the truth is, or something implying same - it has half the story, and that can be enough.

Oh come on. The employees cannot be stupid enough as to not notice their editor being gone for.. *pause* It has to have been around a week or so. There has to be someone of some intelligence there to raise the alarm. What I think is more likely is that Eleanora was released and Geraldine glazed the whole thing over, Eleanora isn't too smart I suppose. yes, about the punctilio, in important matters its reports are awful, but VFDers can read between the lines(Absurd falsities in this case) and capture the essence of the truth.
